i came back to play this game after 8 month break. i was briefly eternity back then but now it feels like the game kinda sucks now in celestial. overall it boils down to the game becoming more like overwatch, where it's harder to affect matches and it only takes 1 big retard on either team to make the game so fucking difficult that it's not fun even if you somehow win. reasons:

1) your team's chances of winning often feel totally gimped from the get-go. there's NO reason to ever walk out of spawn as rocket against phoenix when invis woman is open, but it happens fucking constantly. i can understand if that happens in like platinum but i had it happen several times today in celestial. at this point i have 0 faith in them stopping hero puddle players from entering higher ranked games, so i wish they would at least make heroes a bit more balanced so i don't lose in the loading screen due to getting a rocket one trick

2) hero balance feels pretty K-shaped, as in the good heroes are very good and the bad heroes are very bad. it used to be that i could slot in a quick squirrel girl or maybe an iron fist in the right match and still do well, but now it feels like those heroes exist for the sole purpose of dying or feeding support ult. they just don't do enough. furthermore if some of my teammates get their "good" heroes banned, they often revert to those shitty comfort picks, and that is also very game losing

3) there's too much healing and defensive shit. this wouldn't really be bad on its own, but it exacerbates the issues mentioned above. if your team lacks even a tiny bit of damage or pressure due to picking bad heroes, and it can't overcome the enemy's healing/barrier/bubble spam, then your team's ability to kill anything drops to 0% and you lose the game. apparently no one understands this either, and will just blame the 1 or possibly 2 overworked dps trying to kill shit with 4-5 dead weight useless zdps heroes idling next to the enemy team

if your supports cant protect themselves from a random off angle or dive then there's not much you can do about it. dps and tanks are already overworked in this game, and it's just not feasible for them to turn around and try to shoo off divers from the backline when they're being shot at from the front. and if you go bucky and babysit them, you'll then likely lose anyway because you are down 1 dps worth of pressure.

Whats with people getting on Rocket's players case for not having damage? Yeah there are definitely a time and place for rockets to attack and if you ignore those moments and turn your brain off that's bad, BUT at the end of the day your main job is to keep people alive, if you're letting people die or letting them get below half health just to get damage in, you're retarded, and people don't appreciate that if a rocket at the end of the match has more heals than luna/dagger/sue that is insane because rocket's ult doesn't contribute to his heals, while they have huge fuck-you aoe heals, that means he is heavily, heavily out HPSing them all game.

Yeah i'm trying to practice with all the current meta DPS but its hard with quick play being what it is. There are just times when i flub every hit with semi auto for some reason. I can track and land a solid 60-70% of my magazine with punisher but phoenix especially just feels weird. I think i just have to say fuck it sometimes and zipline in with a shotgun and either get the heads of 2 healers and a DPS or free death the same way i used to reinhardt way back in overwatch.

imo the problem isnt that you can kite him. even the good tanks can be kited. the good tanks are picked because they can hold W and not instantly die to the duelists peppering them to death at max range. thing's problem is that he can't do that because he spends most of the time as a big target with no active mitigation. he is quite ironically one of the softest targets in the game to engage. psylocke, bucky, hela, phoenix all just walk him around like a dog while tapping his head for a few seconds to kill him.

imo he should just be essentially unbeatable for any DPS once he gets into 1v1 melee range with them, and that he will very slowly but surely get there by holding his dukes up and ducking and weaving up to you. and his counterplay should be that you run away from him and shoot at him from his sides and back, where he isn't guarding.

DC however keeps trying to retread their main bunch of Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern(?), and so on, so the masses will only be familiar with them and those in their immediate vicinity, whereas Marvel leans more into their deep cuts and bringing otherwise obscure and unknown characters into the spotlight, not to say that DC doesn't have any potential deep cuts themselves

Though really I think the main issue is the fact that Marvel has a far more bigger presence in media for things outside of their easily identifiable characters than DC does. Creature Commandos, Justice League Dark, Blue Beetle, Shazam, Black Adam, Peacemaker, etc. were all pretty unknown and in most cases pretty well received, to say nothing of cult classic characters who have made a comeback in recent years in the comics like Manchester Black. Of course Marvel has more presence via the MCU but that doesn’t necessarily translate to interest in those things either, we saw that with the Eternals and Inhumans, both of which flopped hard, so it’s really up to how appealing both companies can make these properties/characters too.

The invis vs. thor clip is so weird. I think at a base line everyone can admit sue is a little overtuned, but also need to understand she was buffed because of daredevil.

ok i didnt even read the rest of your post so i failed to miss this part. you are essentially making the argument that the game should be more like overwatch, where a dps making a suicide dive to force a support to use a spell is considered a good pressure play. overall i do not think that is a good route for the game

i think the biggest threat to games of this formula is that support players live in a completely isolated retardosphere from everyone else. they only really understand the support pov and are terrible at the game, but they are also loud as fuck online. they fill reddit, youtube, tiktok, steam forums, ebaumsworld and instagram with takes like "lol that feel when you get dived by le iron man as luna and cant win" like they are a helpless child fighting a grizzly bear, when in reality supports are already pretty stacked with good 1v1 abilities. but they don't even properly engage them because they don't think it's their job, and because they think they're going to lose. every girl gamer on support (and also every effeminate male gamer) tries to scurry away from proper engagements instead of squaring up. it's maddening.

it's only once you absolutely stack their heroes with get out of jail for free cards that the average support player starts to feel just confident enough to faceroll through the encounter. but you know what, even THEN they'll ask dive/flank to be nerfed because they are categorically opposed to the idea of them having to die in game. my friend, who is a big mercy autist in overwatch, claimed that genji was OP at the PEAK of support reign of terror in that game, simply because he nanobladed his ass to smithereens sometimes

You didn't get an answer because nobody knows the actual algorithm for it besides the fact that tanks get fucked on it. Something about numbers in tracked stats combined with whether you win or lose. The higher up in ranks you get the more winning or losing determines it while the guy in silver is playing the hero far better than everyone else so he makes mondo points for having bigger numbers relative to other silvers playing said healer.

no I've had losses with -15 in GM back to back, its not a coincidence. this trash ass game barely gives you point gains from doing good, its like 5 points TOPS and if you're getting 18-20 that means you just played average in that particular lobby

imo if the ranking system actually rewards better stats with more points then that's retarded. but it would explain why so many of my teammates are so focused on maxing out their stats rather than trying to win. holding down m1 on the enemy frontline as moon knight doesn't really win games for your team but it will invariably give you great stats if you do happen to win.

there shouldnt even be hitscans in the game, let alone ones who can ONE shot
but this is one of those MODERN GAMING issues that game devs adamently refuse to accept is never going to work so they try to f orce it under the guise that they'll get it "right" this time.

Its always gametesters/sandboxdesigners that get to the point where they begin building their core gameplay and mechanics and go "GOLLY IM SURE I CAN FIX HITSCANS AND BALANCE THEM AND WE TOTALLY WONT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKES EVERY OTHER HITSCAN ORIENTED GAME HAS MADE IN THE LAST 25 YEARS" and then they make the EXACT mistake every other multiplayer with hitscans in pvp made.

One of the most notable games to have this problem was Halo but Bungie completely gutted hitscans going into halo 3 because Im sure they realized that giving players default hitscans was a retarded idea, if its for a special weapon (ability) sure, but making a characters M1 a hitscan is the most autistically retarded shit you can.
