Looking back on 9:nine about three months after finishing it, I still can't comprehend why it's so well liked. It has many things people like about other VNs that people like, but there is nothing cohesive about it. Is it the 4th wall break stuff that people like, or the trite action scenes? As far as I can tell the only thing it does better than most things at is incest, and even as someone that doesn't enjoy incest all that much, I can tell Yuzusoft did better in their worst VN.
