something was going on today. I kept getting put in lobbies where at least ten minutes had passed and major loot zones were completely untouched.

Is there a hard cap on the amount of people that can spawn into a raid? Or will the raid keep getting filled as players die or leave up until a certain time? I ask because I wonder if the people that go in naked and surrender due to a bad spawn or whatever are actually unintentionally helping everyone else by lowering the active player count per raid.

From my rigorous research using anecdotal and circumstantial evidence and common knowledge as well as vibes I have determined there are roughly 3 different lobby types.

Everyone is friendly besides the odd school shooter rats (they will be banished to the lower caste after extracting). Players will help fight arc and defib downed randos. Stella is completely bloodless. Players in this lobby are incompetent and totally unaware.

This is the zone of shitters and general losers. Filled with rats that suck ass. These lobbies are filled with freekitters and general scum. The players in this lobby are hostile, untrustworthy, and likely brown however they are not skillrd enough to make the cut for the lowest caste. Defending yourself from rats in Chungartha will land you here. Players in this lobby are incompetent but quite aware.

Filled with cheaters and tryhards. Everyone you encounter will be using a meta kit with triggernades and venetor IVs. If you bring high end gear players will use lootsight to hunt you down. Players in this lobby are extremely competent and aware.

Dispatching the random rat that occasionally gets into Chungartha is honestly a pleasure of mine.
The man, despite his intent for PvP, was so inept that he found himself in a docile lobby. He played so poorly that I was able to afford him due process, saying "dont shoot" after he initiated, and simply waiting. When he inevitably persisted, he acted extremely jittery and awkward the moment I returned fire. It felt like a proper execution, ending his character along with the last crumbs of his ego. I ought to rebind my proximity chat from B to N, seeing as I use it for only one purpose, to put a cherry on top of all this farce.

I tried going into the practice range to get a better intuition of the raider tool attack mechanics. And I only got more confused. What the hell is going on with the hitbox? Is this one of those things where it "has" to be that way because of the 3rd person camera?

I have 120 hours and I think this game is mid. Technologically very impressive and whatever game this was supposed to be probably would have been pretty cool, but the tacked on pvp and incentive structure of the """extraction shooter""" is not it. You either play it like COD and you have fun in the 1 inch puddle of depth, but if you try to engage any of the deeper subsystems like crafting the better items, it's just one long perpetual kick in the balls with no reward for it.

I give it a solid 5/10. Cool tech demo. Fun for a bit. There's a cliff 40 hours in where you ask "What is the point?" and the game dies there.

Surface level arc raiders is running in with a freekit and shooting everything on sight and leaving with a handful of loot. Those are the only people having a good time. Extraction camp the dumb bastard that doesnt know about the aggro matchmaking and if you fail, run another freekit and do it again indefinitely.

If you want to run a bobcat and keep it upgraded/repaired (which costs a fucking fortune compared to the stitcher ), you are at a direct disadvantage and the game repeatedly kicks you in the balls for not just freekitting or cheapkitting. If you want to use expensive grenades or mines instead of just trigger nade spamming, the game kicks you in the balls.

The game wants you to free/cheapkit and sell all the good shit you find. That's the incentive.
