Now that it's proven every corrupted Nikke in fact don't die by "natrual causes" how would this progress the state of the story? Was "the chosen few" really just speculation from the deranged? It seems like thanks to the Four Beasts existence as "incomplete", the Queen's forces in the story now are more formidable than what was told two and a half years ago. Which is to say Corrupted Nikkes all Heretics that haven't received the Queen's blessing. I'm not saying it's retcon material, as in the prologue of the story, it was told Corruption was non-negotiable instant termination to most likely prevent something like this from happening ever again. Also it's because everyone currently still thought the Queen still had control of all the Raptures on the planet, (even when she didn't for a century) and the existence of Heretics were classified by the Central Government after the Ark was sealed.The Heretic exposition in this event is non-conflicting canon. It seems the writers want to use Heretic as a singular word for all stages of Nikke conversion, with "corruption, corrupted" no longer homonyms in this story. This event also highlight the reason why Humanity fallen to it's current state of nothingness in a couple of months. For example, Red Shoes' NIMPH corruption conversion got recognized by the Queen thanks to Cinderella's performance, a month before Ark Guardian happened. Humanity was also changing human soldiers to Nikkes. Corrupted Nikkes were purely temporary combatants used for material for the Queen before then.Why would these Heretics no longer exist in the current time? Most likely because the Queen took, their existence to puppet them and their nanomachine bodies could no longer keep their forms resembling the Queen after the disconnection. That is most likely where your "Dark Matter" or "Queen's Blood" on the surface came from. So the line "the chosen few" is still true for the surviving Heretics that still have self awareness after conversion.
