now that i can finally write out my thoughts properly, i have to say that the main problem with the ending is that it despises the readers. it punishes you for reading it properly, it punishes you for making theories, it punishes you for thinking. it introduces interesting ideas and then intermediately discards them for simpler, less interesting bullshit. just off the top of my head-remember how in the prologue they set-up the idea that guda could get thrown to the future as a result of switching the textures? and how fans were excited about the possibilities? this was completely discarded, like it didn't matter at all. why even fucking introduce it? what was the point? what is nasu smoking? misdirection is one thing, but introducing plot points and then just not doing anything with them is just telling your readers that nothing fucking matters. to make matters worse, this was brought up by FUCKING SION OF ALL PEOPLE, and she already knew that your timeline was a lostbelt. why is she even bullshitting you?-the flashback between marisbury and solomon that lead nowhere; like, olga described his dad as a cold man that never really loved anyone, but solomon is the one person he respected because he was his hero. in the very same scene solomon threatens marisbury that he will personally deny his dream if the suffering outweighs the joy. fans were excited, making theories about the original solomon coming back to tell marisbury off, hoping that marisbury's disinterested and serious expression was finally going to break when his idol rejected him. AND NOTHING CAME OUT OF IT, the ending just washes marisbury's hands and that was it.
