Finale was like expecting Return of the King movie version (overstuffed and sentimental but emotionally satisfying and exciting movie) but getting Rise of Skywalker (a lazy reheat of a previous movie with cynical callbacks and a total lack of interest in giving the audience an interesting story).

I don't think they can continue from this ending without completely shit on what happened, and making things worse. The best is to go for full AU restart like Extra does or show Olga's scenario (CE) as an alternative which offs Guda and Mashu for good.
