Everyone participating has to bring in ~50k+ worth of loot. The objective is to bring that loot to the opposite side of the map.
In return you can either double that loot, or choose a specific type of loot location loot and get that.
This will make everyone a PvP target, eliminating freekit retards with no stakes.

The only thing that makes sense for this decision Embark have made is that the game does in fact have gear based matchmaking. There is 0 reason otherwise why we wouldn't be able to craft/buy/move items in our inventory while the queue is going. It doesn't even feel like dupe protection, because I've tried every exploit and weird bug I know of to try duping and nothing works.
Also I've quit matchmaking after it had already loaded me a game and was able to move my inventory and buy ammo before getting put into a game and nothing duped, nothing bugged out, and my inventory wasn't affected in any way.

Yeah I know, I've played maybe 18-20 hours since the wipe and have the expedition ready and 1m in creds so far. Also did all of the workbench upgrades. Just hoping for new content and game changes kinda cba playing much otherwise, fuck doing the quests again. After playing duos/trios over the last 2 weeks with a lot of bloodshed, I've concluded that freekits shitters are only an issue in solos.
Light shields suck A LOT; I've shredded so many freekitters because their trash light shields gives them no protection.
However, in solos freekitters are much more obnoxious since there are multiple ways to get an unfair advantage on a geared player (ratting, extraction camping, social deception)

Honestly the hostility based matchmaking just killed the game for me, it's the worst decision they could've made.
What makes Arc soulful is the amoutn of unknown in the PvPvE. The matchmaking fucks the core design of the game by adjusting you consistently towards PvE or PvP which takes a lot of flavor out of the game. They were onto something, the game used to feel believable, like a TLOU world but with actual people. Now I just know what's going to happen 90% of the time, you'll meet the occasional friendly dude in KOSistan or a killer in Chungartha but the damage is done. Guess Arc is just another sanitized modern game, we can't have good things anymore.
