After running the kettle man times in trios I have realized the biggest issue with it is actually hipfire accuracy, harder to spamclick with it too when ADS (unless you're macroing which many people are) but as it stands right now if someone is close to me I never ADS with it and just spam the fuck out of LMB hipfiring and shred people

I did test the whole waiting until later in the week and it still seemed to shuffle me around in the leaderboards, and it might be determined by the trials you've completed, but I can't confirm this or anything, and maybe that's just part of the game

I got the snowball trial out of the way first and it had me as number 1 on the leaderboard with like 14k points
I completed another trial 3 star and moved me to another leaderboard where I was rank 7
I then completed ANOTHER trial 3 star
and I was moved to ANOTHER leaderboard where I was rank 11 and people in the top 10 were clearly trios or farmed snowballs, but only up to 150k

after reaching the 100 hour playtime 46h being on topside I think I'm clocking out for now. I maxed out my workshop and stowed a bunch of items stared at my stash and realized game isn't exactly fun for me anymore and got stale for me pretty quickly.
looting seems meaningless and finding high tier items and blueprints got unexciting, whats there to gain? Gear balance is shit, why bring X when you can bring Y? there seems to be no reason to bring in your high-tiered gears when the cheaper lowered tier ones works just as fine. theres really no stake in pvping, you can get your loadout again pretty easily and with shit gear balance a kettle from a freekit is all you need and even then the spoils from looting a raider is unexciting, the thrill of combat is the only reason to fight. PvEing got lukewarm as well, fighting the Matriarch and the Queen got boring fast and the rewards doesnt seem great for the cost, or at all for that matter, so with those in mind coupled with everyone unwilling to start combat theres no feeling of tension when in a raid. I don't care for the lore/story but the rewards for questing are shit, could do better incentivizing by unlocking items to buy per quest done or something. half the skills in the skill tree are next to useless that I don't even care about leveling up anymore. and I'll admit there are things I don't like about some of the map designs but too retarded to have the vocabulary to properly articulate why, guess it boils down to keys being worthless, certain areas feels "samey", some of the set-pieces feel lack luster, and when it comes to engaging in combat, the events doesn't exactly make them more exciting either.

Or maybe I'm wrong about all this and I'm a complete idiot or I got simply bored and ready to move on to other games. Maybe someone could talk me into having fun again

I am a 100% PVE player in this game. I have had my share of PVP years (actually decades) and the friendly interactions with other players and PVE experience of Arc Raiders is what makes this game stand out in the Battle Royale / Extraction Shooter scene for me - and I believe many others.

Also, I fully understand that there needs to be PVP in it, as to raise the tension and actually make the friendly encounters meaningful. Would it be full PVE, I wouldn't be thankful for each and every friendly player.

The ABMM system so far seemed to do a REALLY good job at placing fully friendly players like myself (I never even shoot back a bullet when attacked PVP) in lobbies with ~95% friendly players. The 0-5% unfriendly or super nervous PVP players add the needed spice but don't ruin the experience. You get backstabbed maybe every 15-20 rounds on full friendly servers. That's OK and needed.

BUT TODAY: I get shot on sight or ambushed and backstabbed in 9/10 games. WTH? I changed NOTHING about my 100% friendly game style.

The first few rounds I thought this might just be bad luck / coincidence or a few people gaming the ABMM system (Embark btw should find a way to catch and prevent that). But not after this many rounds now and it seems to be getting even worse. As if I am gliding into full PVP lobbies for whatever reason.

My assumption: Embark is experimenting (I understand they need to) with turning up the PVP player mix on friendly servers.

It doesn't work! 1 PVP player easily and quickly wipes an entire PVE server of course, as we don't fight back.

I can tell you, as an adult gamer, if I lose another entire gaming day like this, ONLY having bad experiences for hours and hours (not even talking about the gear setback along with this - that's part of the game). I will not be coming back to this game...

How do you feel about the content of the game? Is there enough right now? Too little? Too little to do? I think the game is awesome, I've definitely gotten my moneys worth and then some. But I'm coming to a point where there isn't much to do outside of play for fun (which it is). I think the game is "cursed" in a sense that it will only be its best self in a few years. Once you've done the quests, gotten lots of blue prints, completed the expedition and waiting for reset, there isn't much to do.

The game has no long term progression. There's not enough to do in the game as a "sandbox". Think of RuneScape, there's all kinds of shit to do in that game. Things to grind, personal goals to set, PVP specific areas and rewards, and more. ARCRaiders should be the same, more and better quests. Unique rewards to find/use/keep. Areas should be more indepth and interesting instead of just "room with 5 kitchen containers". PVP shouldn't be foisted upon you at every turn ruining your fun/personal goals like just trying to gather supplies. PVP specific quests/arenas/maps/etc that offer better and different rewards would be more interesting. The skills page shouldn't be a skill-point allocation but more like RS or EFT where you level up as you play; though thats a minor nitpick and maybe the skill page just needs tuning.

Do any of you have a problem with bullets just not counting? I'm not even sure how to describe my problem. It's like when I shoot people it just doesn't work. Like I am mag dumping niggas and they NEVER go down. I shoot and shoot and shoot and don't knock them, reload and shoot even more and don't knock them still.

If it was as simple as just missing my shots, ok, but trust me, I'm not. I am watching as bullet after bullet after bullet is hitting them even plays the shield hit sound effects, shows blood shooting out of them, but they just run off like I did nothing to them. I shoot people so many times that I think to myself "how the fuck is he not down?" and then I shoot them even more times than that and I still can't understand how they're not down.

The existing content is a pretty solid foundation, but it needs heavy refinement.
First you have the obvious things like weapon balance and crafting / repair economy. Until they balance these out properly, the game is simply broken on a fundamental level. Good loot needs to matter in a looting centric game.
Skilltree needs a lot of work. Half the skills are literal garbage. Adding in the ability to respec skill points was a huge move on their part though, they just need to follow through and give people more interesting choices to make
Then theres QoL stuff they need to put in. No user-defined loadouts leads to tons of wasted downtime between matches. Allowing us to define favorites for the crafting items in the workbench would be a nice add as well. Just don't make me fiddle so much with the awkward menuing in speranza, its annoying

Blueprint system should be heavily reworked as well. IMO the utility items shouldn't be blueprint locked but rather level-gated (if that). I understand why gun and mod BPs are random, but I can't think of any good reason to lock barricade kits behind a random chance drop. The devs should be encouraging people to play around with these items in their sandbox game. Instead they effectively teach everyone to play their game without them.

I think the devs fucked up hard by officially announcing matchmaking is based on aggression. Most advanced players already sort of figured it was, but now that it's confirmed all faggots are metagaming around it.

It's no longer "oh I prefer not to shoot but I will defend myself, if an opportunity comes I will attack others". Now it's only "always shoot" or "always be peaceful" or even worse, the fags going "I shoot like crazy then do 5 suicide runs with no gear so I end up in more peaceful lobbies and can shoot peaceful people again".

Tonight I decided to give Arc Raiders a try. 3 hours in, so far so good. The game feels very enjoyable. I've been playing Battlefield 6 and Cyberpunk since October, and Raiders' large open maps feel like a breath of fresh air. Everything is so scenic and visually appealing I want to just run around and catch the unique vibe it gives off. The only extraction shooter I've ever played is Marathon tech test so I still have a lot to learn about the genre.
Got any life-changing advice for a newcomer? What resources should I look for first, what guns to invest into, what gear to choose, etc.

The devs should not have this type of matchmaking in the first place. The whole fun of a looter shooter is having gear fear, you might lose that valuable thing to another player. That fear makes the round thrilling and exciting. Remove that element and what do you get? A rather lackluster PvE game with no fear or thrill at all because the AI in this game is rather basic and defeated by a window.
Maybe you get put into a killer lobby but maybe the next lobby is full of peaceful people. But because of the previous lobby being full of killers, despite being in a peaceful lobby, you're now on edge and afraid even if there is no chance of being PK'ed. That is fun that fear, that dread of not knowing what comes next. Having people fully sprinting running around in these looting lobbies with no fear defeats the entire point of the entire genre.
