Yunaka lost 3k votes between CYL8/9 for whatever reason. We also dont know how all 23k votes between Baldr/Sharena will actually distribute between the girls.
Also, dont forget that we're assuming that Tsubasa will gain ~5k votes (remember, she barely beat Yunaka last time) to get 1st as well.

They don't give full results but they can give an indication of certain things.
MByleth, Felix and Bernadetta were all the highest rankings or second highest rankers for both Houses and Hopes when they won. If Sylvain emulates that, he's probably won. To win for Hopes you need around 2-3k votes and based on Felix, Bernie and Byleth, Hopes votes usually make up about 20% of your total. If Sylvain doesn't achieve this, it's less likely he's going to win.
Likewise for Engage, whichever female comes second has automatically lost because the odds it gets two female winners are so low. Furthermore, if 1st place is Yunaka and not Ivy, they have probably both lost because Yunaka had substantially further to go to be a likely winner than Ivy did. Ivy was not at a winning total last year and it's much more likely that she lost votes than it is that Yunaka gained an obscene amount of votes, so it makes it likely neither of them are going to win and both are in the 6-8k range.

People used the same logic to predict that Eik had won CYL9 and Engage had got shut out of CYL8. One of either Sharena or Baldr had to win, and since Eik beat them both, he must have had a very high vote total. Likewise MAlear came like 18th in the Engage magazine polls so the fact he broke the top 5 was a massive upset that could have only been achieved by Engage's votes being too low to win across the board. It's easier to upset with low vote totals than high ones.
