The story so far seems to imply the Ring guy may have done something to Ryoshu's daughter which may have some overlay with what Hermann may have done to Gregor's sister. This has some more theming with Hell Screen and family members being sacrificed into art pieces. The Ring itself seems to like depictions of deep emotion through horror and the sacrifice of that which is precious to the painter (Yi Sang killing his Fellows, Ring guy giving up his body, Garnet turning Charon into art). Both Hong and Gregor are good candidates for this. Gregor has the bonus of undergoing a transformation (into a mechanical Amalgam instead of a cockroach).But the Ironmaiden theme could also make it a Meursault ID, he also tends to get tanky IDs so who knows? It's a lot of spitballing on my end.
