People on tumblr always view characters as if they are actual functioning people with a complete spectrum of thoughts and emotions and not caricatured portrayals of the human experience. This mindset heavily extends to Silver. We really can't talk about Uwuver without addressing Evan Stanley and she falls perfectly into this mindset.Now think about that. Silver is from the apocalypse and he wants it to stop. That means whether or not he's a rough hothead or a cute uwu babby cinnamon chungus, he would still take drastic measures to escape. In fact, the latter is probably more intense to percieve. I implore you to find places where people defend Uwuver, they will often cite this as a reason. That Silver doesn't have the pressure of Iblis riling him up anymore, therefore that aggression was never part of his personality, it was just him reacting to his circumstances.It's easy to see why people would fall into this mindset. It's the same mindset that leads people to thinking Amy should move on from Sonic and accept that he will never reciprocate. Because a real human being interacting with Sonic would eventually come to realize this. Amy and Silver are not real people and while I'm not saying they are shallow characters, they are characters. They represent specific temperaments and tones and the full weight of the human experience is not something they were ever meant to portray. IDW (and to a smaller extent, Sonic Prime) are written with the opposite perspective and that is one of the few reasons why they use different characterizations. It all comes down to the notion that "More relatable" = good writng. Which is quite the combination in a franchise popular with socially awkward and verbose nerds. This idea that a well written, deep character can only exist when the characters act like "Real people" ends up putting the idea of a "real person" in a box.
