VeryHard mode wasn't too bad overall. Dungeons 3 and 4 picked up in difficulty a bit since I was too lazy to buy armor but once I did that everything was fine. I ended up with a lot more extra money this time, mostly due to not having to buy pretty much anything at all since you start with enough levels to max attack skills but also because I completely missed the yeti in the second dungeon the first time through. Shugoran, the Miyabi office mini boss, was surprisingly a bit of a wall. His fire aoe hit the whole party for 2k damage, and then his adds could follow up and kill people all before anyone on my team took a turn. He even could out speed the magic reflection spell so that wasn't a viable solution. I actually had to use Seijirou's barrier talisman for once to handle it.

Occasionally you'll use fire/ice grenades for enemies immune to physical damage that Ren doesn't one shot or have Juuzou do punch combos. Once Mana hits 20 she either wants to max her first book for the big water aoe or get all of her books to 3 for necro level 3's big fire aoe, and then she's good for randoms over Juuzou though she's quite a bit more frail than he is. For bosses Yulia obviously needs to come up front so she can spam her aoe heal every turn, and Seijirou is the strongest by far with his fire/ice grenades. For the last member I just stuck with Ren.One of the main things to pay attention to is enemy damage elements. While there's 14 different elements random enemies mostly stick to physical attacks, so military armor's bonus physical resists are a very large increase in survivability. But if the enemy or boss only has 1 or 2 dangerous elements that's when you buy runestones and turn your clothing into better armor. Once you get a death card and some levels take a bit of time to test some skills out to see what's good or not, and to see what skills are even in your skill tree since you can only see the next skill available and not the ones behind it in the list.
