If you do 1.1x as good as the average Mr F, but I do 1.2x as good as the average Black Panther, I'll get ace even you beat me in every metric. That's why new characters get it pretty much for free since there's a bunch of throwers dragging down the average as they figure out the character is not for them. Also certain characters can get it easy for similar reasons. A lot of throwing Widows means any Widow that tries earnestly gets MVP, any Rocket that left clicks at all gets it. Some characters really struggle to get it at all because most Ultrons are putting out really similar damage and healing numbers to each other so you're rarely beating the average by much unless there's some odd circumstance like having the teamup.

My main problem with Rivals beyond the retarded playerbase is that it’s too straightforward. Every character has exactly one way to play them and this leads to the game being quite boring if you main just one hero. It would be great if Rivals had enough depth in its hero design to allow alternate ways of playing a character. The closest thing we ever had to this was Dive Jeff which caused the entire character to be reworked into probably the second most braindead healbot behind Rocket.I’m not expecting Demoman/Demoknight levels of variety but at least some would be nice.

Everyone knows overwatch has the better gameplay. It feels smooth, it's on an actual engine purpose-built for itself instead of buying unreal slop 5 and coping with that. None of that matters though when they turned half of the characters into looney troons and also release mystery meat troons with chipped teeth. They also only released THREE heroes last year, and barely any maps. They saw Rival's success and tried making some shitty third person mode, splitting the dead playerbase into yet another queue. They also are too pussy to just go back to 6v6 like everyone wants, so now there is a 5v5 role queue and a 6v6 open queue, splitting the player base yet again. There is NO coming back for that game. I'm surprised it hasn't been officially dropped like they did to heroes of the storm. It truly is a shame because the feel of the overwatch gameplay will probably never be beaten by another hero shooter because no devs use their own engines anymore, everything is Unreal slop.
