She's got pretty much everything you want for w16: Great AA+ASW, great AA+ASW vanguard buffs, flagship protection (EVA+the more important evasion RATE), an EU buff, good survivability and honestly decent personal damage. She seemed pretty decent from day one, but talking of traditions, it's indeed one that people tend to gravely underestimate destroyers.
