Now that we've had time to marinate in the new encounter design (unbreakable coins, back up units, some expected losses) I have to say the one thing I think this misses is that many modern ID's are built around building up some kind of resource or special status and then cashing it in for big damage. And it's kind of hard to reliably do that when the bosses/enemies are built expecting that you can't always win clashes.
I wonder if there's more relics that work off consuming memories. Dieci has replicas of a relic that increases their power based on knowledge consumed, Ryoshu's forces wounds to remain there if you're in the presence of the sword, even if you could heal mid combat it'd be useless.
