Branded is running like 6 handtraps, consisting of Nibiru (though it's usually not in most branded decks), effect veilers, and drolls. They're using droplet as well. Rank-Up isn't a problem, but I always hated the idea that certain eligible archetypes like Galaxy-Eyes can use their Xyz effect that had a downside of not being able to attack or whatever, only to Rank-Up for free into a bigger monster, that wasn't affected by said downside, then repeat. Links existed to be a floodgate to the extra deck problem back when MR4 was introduced. While MR4 was a bad design, Links should have been handled better when it was removed. They now do the opposite job, working as endless extra deck extenders.
As much as I hate fusions, Dragonmaids were the better babby's-first-MD-deck- for teaching an ED focus than Swordsoul. Sheou is an omninegate but at least she fucks off and your opponent can take advantage of that to waste her earlier. Putting Sheou and a House on board at the same time requires thinking outside of the archetype. If you fuck up the fusion you can try again next turn if you survive with backrow that costs on-board resources.Swordsouls are fucking boring. There is no Synchro climbing or meaningful level modulation. You summon 1 monster (which spawns a token at the same time) and go straight into a 10* on par if not better than Accel Synchros. You don't even need to touch your main deck to add Baronne, Dragtite and whatever the fuck you want to the least interesting Synchro deck imaginable. The backrow isn't even creative, it's just fucking Reborn, ROTA and Icarus Attack with an obligatory banish effect that lets you go into Tenyi if you can click 3 buttons.Suships are alright just overhyped.Idgaf what the introductory Pend deck is so I'll say Majespecters are appropriately underwhelming.Live Twins rewarding you for pressing the Link button is fine enough, the real issue is link starting as an aids mechanic and Live Twins being absorbed into the fiendslop amalgam.

Nibiru only starts giving activation prompts after summon 5 for obvious reasons. Nibbing at summon 5 is cool and all but if your opponent still brings out 2 Utopia Leos or Ensemblue Robin you really didn't accomplish much. There's a lot more minutia to it but to keep it brief you want to keep activation prompts off while Nib is in your hand until your opponent has their entire endboard on field past summon 5, sans omninegates.Thing is, the Nibiru activation prompt is only obvious if Nibiru is the ONLY interaction you have. If your hourglass starts spinning at opponent's summon 1 then they'll just think you're holding onto Veiler at summon 5 unless you do somethin retarded like wait 30 seconds to decide or use Veiler and still have an interaction. Since TYPHON can summon itself anytime after your opponent summons 2 ED monsters, it can start prompting activations before summon 5. This reveals TYPHON in your ED, but doesn't reveal Nib.Also you can summon TYPHON over the Nib on your field to easily answer the token. Why the fuck would you consider doing it the other way around when TYPHON blocks all summons after it?
