I think people are underestimating just how much Stonesplit was buffed, presumably because the patch notes are worthless and don't tell us anything. Some people have pointed out some things, such as Spear Q applying Drumbeat and the ability to chain 3 Variant Combos on exhausted enemies, but there's actually much more than that. Perhaps most notably there was a 25 percent damage buff to the Heavy Charged attack, which is effectively just buffing Stonesplits' overall damage output by that much due to it's reliance on that move. You can also refresh Breakthrough without Drumbeat with the Moblade Q, so once you've procured Drumbeat once you never even need to swap back to the spear ever again to maintain breakthrough, which is particularly useful if there are multiple Stonesplits in the team and someone else is applying debuffs (most likely the designated tank). The variant slash combo is also more lenient than you might expect. Hitting an exhausted boss with a variant combo will give you a buff that allows you to chain it two more times, and the buff persists after execution or just the end of an exhaust phase, so you can still do two additional ones from neutral as long as you have the battle will, albeit it ends after you've used them. You also get access to the block counter full charge heavy with the variant combo now without requiring the leveled up gold innerway.What's most notable about all these buffs is that none of them are conditioned on innerway breakthroughs, unlike the major buffs for bamboocut, so all of these benefits are conferred to Abyss Trials and Breaking Army.
