As of recently I always one-and-done Modern players and I admit I've teabagged one or two. I just find it so unfair that while Classic players let me jump all over the place, Modern players keep shooting me out of the air and whiff punish me in neutral and they even counter my DI. the core problem of this game is that the system mechanics overshadow character qualities. eg why play a pure rush down character when you have drive rush anyway? but then also, most of the moves in the game are balanced around these system mechanics, for example slow moves are usually compensated in some way because they lose to DI. So, you can't just nerf the system and keep the moves the same, but if they did then here is what I would do with that in mind:DI: remove crumple state on PC, just knock them back like a normal hit. this is enough reward since blocked DI will still cause wall bounce in the corner.neutral DR: costs 3 bars. sliming around the screen is dumb and the mid screen oki from it is retarded. but if you have a lot of bar then you can still do it safely one time.DRC: moves out of DRC have no additional frame advantage on block or hit. blindly doing DRC to get a big combo OR 2 subsequent mix ups on block is dumb. Now you only get 1 mix up and you can't route it to bigger damage. It already costs 3 bars.Parry: arguably no change except for no PP against jumping attacks. you could also make it so PP against grounded attacks leaves you at +2 and within throw and shimmy range, but that could be janky so I am hesitant to suggest that.Drive Reversal: lol buff this idk. or just keep it as is, since it basically just gives characters who have no reversal a shitty one - which is better than nothing.thanks for reading my fanfic.

It's extremely difficult to do and I don't know how Manon does it, but try watching replays of high MR Manon vs whatever character and pay attention to the distance they're playing at from the opponent and the buttons they're pressing to punish those specific moves.
