The trick with Venture is learning how to use burrow as the glue for all of your plays. Every time you might be in a bad spot just burrow. Don't wait until you're about to die because its cast time is stupid long. Miss your drill? Burrow. The team turns around? Burrow. Get shot at? Burrow.Abuse burrow's cooldown reduction for drill. Drill early and use burrow to get it back fast. Use drill underground to close the gap, hold burrow to deal damage, and you already have drill back by the time you're in the air and landing a shot. Use the drill>burrow>drill combo to move cross-map faster than almost all of the cast. Use burrow to splash damage the backline and drill to high ground to set up kills for your team. Use burrow to draw attention and play mini-tank.Burrow is insanely good value if you know what to do with it. Venture is a trickster's hero. He's now down his most valuable cooldown and you can force the engage with your advantage. McCass really wants to stand around cover to peek-shoot, so take advantage of how that's cover for you too. Also, any time he's not paying attention to you, burrow behind and drill him towards your team. He's slow and McCass players feel invincible so they should be able to just handle him because he's probably going to be standing too close a lot.

Coming back to this game after dropping it sometime after ram released, is there a reason that the tank queue is so fucked? When I left I could all queue and get a somewhat decent mix of support and tank with dps unsurprisingly being the only thing that rarely shows but looking at both quickplay and competitive the queues for tank are a third of the others and I’m almost always stuck playing tank. I find tank fun but I’d like some variety from playing sigma/junker/ram. Were the patches the last few years incredibly unkind to tanks or something?
