Reminder that there's an automation contest on /ovg/, deadline in 22 days
>Wait why isn't it letting me place terain to the same height>Ther's apparently a limit of 22 for terrain but 33 for structuresIokay
>>553564937i guess it's fine as long as you're just posting your shipsi like the game but it's not the right general for its gameplay
>>553565923it's more of a strategy game than an /egg/ game, that's what i'm trying to sayits /egg/ aspects are just a minigame, and in fact it heavily discourages the building of elaborate ships since jet precision strikes, speed and stealth are king, so you must stay small
>need to scale up my asteroid upcycling>need to get legendary quality modules to scale up legendary asteroid production>need to scale up legendary asteroid production to get legendary quality modules>also my ship fucking sucks need to redesign it to go way faster and unfuck my thruster and fuel production spaghetti>legendary thrusters and legendary grabbers would help but for that I need to scale up legendary asteroid production>more asteroid crushing productivity would also help>but for that I need to significantly scale up gleba, but I want to have base legendary materials available on-demand for when I upcycle fruit, so I'll do that just as soon as I've scaled up my legendary asteroid production
The only possible reason I would have to do this encased badwater wheel tower outside of "because I want to" is if I was playing a tiny map and had no horizontal space to spareNote the prototype I haven't deleted yet in the distance
>>553569214wouldn't that mean factorio is off-topic then?
I really do love how convenient spiral stairs are, they've made compact vertical movement so much easier
>>553567038start legendary quality modules through blue circuit recycling. the productivity research makes it a lot less reliant on having good modules to start with and producing modules starting with blue circuits is way simpler than producing modules starting with asteroids.
I'm finally going to be free boys

>>553573676Hopefully those faggost dont add the "complete all achievements in one go" thing thats been floating around
>>553574282would make sense if it was done to save a few megabytes of storage, but none of the other threads in the archive seem to be affectedwhat le fuck?
>>553573676post your platform, it looks cool from the minimap
>>553572889Perhaps. I already have sunk cost from building an asteroid upcycling ship so I think I'm most of the way to having idly watched my ship fly back and forth long enough to be able to start legendary module production, in fact I think I need to set up legendary holmium/superconductors next thing to get ready for legendary quality production. If I had your advice like a week ago maybe I'd have had more fun getting to this point though.
What am I in for?
>>553574813>the "complete all achievements in one go" thing thats been floating aroundThat sounds kino, can't wait for 2.1
>>553575771a lot of "i wish this game had factorio's features" thoughts
After some autism I've determined that:>Contamination spreads all cardinal directions horizontally and vertically>Spreads diagonally downwards>DOES NOT spread diagonally upwards>DOES NOT spread through levees which is weird because I could have sworn it did before
Oh! Apparently I'm retarded and it DOES NOT spread upwards in general??? That seems really weird to me
>>553570007Update on this: I'm probably gonna stop building towers out of dirt so much in the future, you can do some neat horizontal stuff but not being able to build downwards through terrain makes it a pain in the ass

>>553605842There's nothing wrong with spaghetti in general, but you gotta make your individual assemblies either more scalable or larger to start off with.If you know exactly how much you'll need (e.g. you're targeting 60spm and ratio out the recipes) then build that much, but for example two green circuit assemblers is not gonna cut it.If you don't want to ratio then keep spaghettying but spread it out a lot more. Make compact self-contained assembly blocks that take input belts and return output belts, and then route all the inputs to the needed outputs all spaghetti like if you want, no need for a main bus. But keep the actual assembly spread out and have each product have a clear input and a clear output, simple as.
god bless
>>553574969Someone posted the forbidden meme
>>553575771Disappointment.
>>553613012It's a minor gripe but I wish you could bundle wire types in the same space to simplify long runs without the two different voltages actually connecting. It leads to me just running high voltage wire everywhere and then just putting a tranny to choke it down for low voltage circuits.
>>553613012>can't even afford drinking waterWhat are you, Pakistani?
Badpower tower complete. Seven wheels that spin in alternating directions driven by two badwater sources.A bit of a clusterfuck to make, but only because I spent ages pissing around with the dirt block stage that wasn't necessary in the slightest

>>553632068How did they get the machines to obey human words? Is language that powerful?
>>553617306>being this retardedJust run your HV power supply outside and branch off of it with an LV transformer leading into an area.
>Guaranteed Cryonite planet fucking sucks. Solar at 22% and extremely shitty uranium deposits with no oil and barely any coal which means I need to ship heavy oil there and will probably need to ship cargo rocket parts there too because there's also no iron ore>Oil planet actually has a comparable Cryonite levels>Survey it>Planet is 60% desert and 40% temperate with 0% frozen biome so even though it says it has Cryonite it doesn't even have one patchInfinite oil planet has a shitload of Beryl so that's nice but fucking come on. I don't want to have to increase production on Nauvis until after I get Production and Utility science going but Cryonite planet is going to be a huge pain in the ass
>>553635436No. The junction boxes on HV wires look better.
>>553634843forget turing's toy, noam chomsky's theory of grammars is the real magic behind computing btw
>>553645461Okay, well I don't know why L = (A^n)*(B^n) (mirror world) n>0, but that sounds pretty damn radical.Does anyone else know who or what the hell taught the electro-plastic to read?
Anyone played MineMogul? It's a physics based factorio-lite game. There isn't that much content right now, but the basics are actually pretty fun so far. It definitely won't reach the scale of factorio, dyson or even satisfactory, but the physics gimmick has its own charm. Here is a the process chain from iron ore to pipe: https://streamable.com/913u1x
>>553649965this kinda feels like what Hydroneer could've been if the devs didn't spend all their time fellating a single youtuber instead of adding features
>>553650638Yeah, that's what people say in reviews too.I personally can't compare them because Hydroneer was so fucking boring I quit after a hour or two.On the other hand I've finished this in maybe 2 days and I wonder how could it be expanded. Manually cleaning obstructions and random bullshit is fun when you have 5 machines, not 500. The map is also quite limited, so you can't really expand it to a modular base either if they went crafting tree route. It would be pretty neat if they added fully destructible terrain, so you can literally dig new rooms when needed.
How are you actually supposed to start in the northern forest in satisfactory? Are you really just supposed to constantly dodge aliens for 20 minutes until you can craft a weapon?
>>553651967I like starting there in this area which is littered with pure nodes, huge canyon to build a concrete platform over, and caterium and sulfur just a small jog awayalternatively go a bit further east to a somewhat flat open grass area for a whole heap of nodes
