The problems with controller aren’t just aim assist, but how poorly implemented button remapping is. For example, let’s say I want to use A to ascend and B to descend for my tempo flight character. I can do that for most of them, but then you have cases like Adam where that doesn’t a work because in his ghost form B is used to cancel the ghost form and that can’t be reassigned. Or another example is magneto. Let’s say I want to use B to descend when he’s ulting. If I do that I then can’t assign the B button to anything else while he’s not ulting. It’s just a waste of a button. It’s not doing anything if I’m not ult form. Or maybe I like setting auto float on all the characters that can auto float. The game lets me do that for everyone…except Namor. Why? There’s no reason. Namor’s just not allowed to auto float. Same deal with with shield toggle. I can toggle shields for everyone except Angela. She’s a flying character. I use LB and LT to ascend and descend, which means I use the other bumper for her shield. I want to be able to toggle it. Or maybe I want to assign a ping to my left stick. I can do that, but the game also forces you to have both sticks in as your it input, so if I don’t assign another button for the ult and I decide to rely on the two stick input, every time I ult I will end up using my ping. The game doesn’t overwrite the ping input even though it knows I ulted.

Furthermore strange’s personal DPS is directly affected by his shield cancel usage, which does encourage more selfish shield usage. If done well, you get a lot fewer shield breaks, and still block random ranged damage for your team regardless. But, your dps dealer who’d would be standing behind you in this situation could still get hit, and get a false sense of security. If you wanted a shield to give your dps dealer to shoot safely from in a long period of time, it isn’t strange’s, emma’s or mag’s. It’s Invis.
