I feel like people aren't exactly complaining about the weapon selection sucking, but more rather that the mechanics for some of the weapons give them such a strong innate advantage that they invalidate a lot of the other options by way of just being objectively superior. Like why would you use a Tactical AR or Enforcer when the Deadeye is more precise, lacks bloom and has a first person ADS mode that allows for actual proper aiming without having to fanangle with corner peeks? Why use the Flex SMG or Dualies when the Holo Rush is just a diet Deadeye? Why use the Sovreign or Iron Pump when the Hammers are so easily spammable and fast to use? (Though to be fair shotguns suffer less from this because they're just obscenely strong when you get a good hit and everyone and their grandmother's pet corgi attempts to force you into situations where they can use said shotguns)When the game feels this "solved", it basically kills any experimentation or goofing off or any variety in gameplay, it's the same exact thing ad nauseum with the only difference being whether or not you're fighting a Scat Holloway, a Gimpsuiter, a Kim K, a Lara Crapter or a sports skin user.
