You pick BP to give +10% crit to the team. The weapon itself doesn't synergize much with crit, but you still need crits to put Blinded by Blood on targets. You don't have to run the +10% self crit either.
You CAN run Martyrdom too, but I do think it's the worse keystone if you're running chorus, unless you're also using thammer. Martyrdom thammer chorus is good.
Stealth relic blade with martyrdom is supposedly good. Haven't played it myself.

The brittleness was never what made it good in the first place, it's just a retard crutch for shooting crushers (don't do that) which is the only thing it mattered against. Flak bodies die to Infernus, flak heads die to headshots.
Recon las is strong. That's about it. Virtually nobody runs it correctly (brown version, Deadshot), and it's also worse than the laspistol in every way that matters.
The blue one is real comfy on zealot, at least.

Additive with itself, multiplicative with other categories.
+% damage (on you) is multiplied by +% strength (on you) is multiplied by +% damage taken (on the target)
It is a big deal because adding another source of extra damage taken that everyone else benefits from is a massive DPS increase against crushers and all bosses. You would be stupid not to take it, unless you're a thammer build that 1-2-shots everything.

All damage resistances/reductions stack multiplicatively.
For damage resistance, that is 20% -> 36% -> 48%
For corruption resistance, that is 15% -> 28% -> 39%
On an autistic technicality, each one is worth less than the last, if you want to go by raw, flat numerical damage reduced. Optimizers often stop at 2. I personally believe that stacking 3 on the most dangerous enemies to your build is worth it.
I run 3 gunner, 2 flamer 1 bomber on all my frontliners, for example. I think I ended up putting 3 bomber on my scum too, just to tank fart clouds which otherwise counter the class but I'm extra weak to because I'm a health build.

Do note that, generally, small skill tree toughness damage reduction nodes supposedly stack additively, and only the small ones, but I'm not sober enough to check the source code.
For example, if you have 5% TDR and 10% TDR, those actually do come out to 15% TDR so they do stack favorably.
