The Deloreans tried to "fix" this a little bit, but they were glorified loot spawners, and the Reboot Vans being driveable still doesn't mean much when most of them are jackbooted to be rooted in place anyway.Now you'll still see cars in non-ranked stuff here and there, but it's a rich get richer situation where it's usually people managing to hold a lead in the match, because everyone else just has to make due with mobility items.

If you wanted to beam someone from a distance you had to tap shoot and hit your shots instead of spraying and praying, and the red dots that existed were slow-firing and needed headshots to do decent damage. I don't think scoped assault rifles have a balanced place in the game in the post-chapter 1 forms they take.
