Water strike would negate all damage and with courage bring you straight to charge lv3 that did a lot of damage and was much less restricted than mighty charge 2. I played all melee weapons in wilds and something like LS chaining ISS is not only easier but also does more damage while the character is safer thanks to iframes.

Rise like 4U and Gen tried to match the concept art and they basically managed to do it perfectly that time around, all the characters including ur hunter look exactly the same as in the concept art. Even Wilds went back to anime concept art and the characters got some of that style back unlike in World.Despite what video essayists claim, this series never intended to be grounded, realistic or whatever else buzzword until World (which the devs have said directly in interviews) forced the entire team to go against Monster Hunter's design principles to chase the AAA western market, and considering how that game has by far the worst monsters, weapons and armor designs and character designs to have touched this franchise, all of which were walked back on with Wilds, its safe to say World is gonna remain the ugly duckling of the family.

Yep 4U still feels miserable to go back to. Not really sure why I keep bothering to boot it up every once in a while. I guess it's mostly nostalgia at this point. If you're a newer player which I'm assuming you are, you probably haven't gotten good enough to notice the finer details of combat but the way it's handled in 4U just feels awful compared to something like FU, GU, and hell even 3U. I'm not going to get into shit like wystones or ledges. It's just the actual core moment to moment gameplay feels straight up worse than those other games. It's primarily a hitstop issue but monsters are also just so much more spastic than they have any right to be all other things considered.
