She's not a boy nonie. Just speaks like one, acts like one, prefers male clothes and has a short haircut. Might get embarrassed when forced to act more feminine. Will definitely want to smack you for calling her cute, too.
Hopefully you've not been slacking on your Japanese lately. Here's your personal practice partner. She's not too thrilled about it. Be kind, offer amenities, possibility of freedom. Or don't. Stumble through the conversations with your messy Japanese. You won't cheat with the in-world google translate, right?

Featuring Kuroda Ren, a tomboyish daughter of Sapporo's yakuza head. The standard shtick: athletic build, short hair, sharp tongue. Given away as a peace offering to save her father's skin. Doesn't speak much English.

Additional:
Auto-Furigana
Correction box for your mangled Japanese
A bit less randomly selected names
Overforced snow symbolism
Couple different avatars to pick from

"But I just want to practice my reading!" - "What do you mean?" I ask in Japanese, before smoothly switching back to English. "Dummy."

"But I can't read Japanese!" - check the prompt overrides

Greetings:
1. First time meeting. Smile, good first impressions are important.
2. First day at her new job as a maid. She absolutely loves it, especially the frilly clothes.

The openings are quite long, but I like how they build up the mood. The gens are a bit messy, but that's the style I'm going for and definitely not a skill issue. I've tried to touch them up slightly in Krita.

Note that chub strips the character regex that handles the correction box, translated text stylization, and their removal from the context. Also, make sure that the "Pin greeting message styles" in the settings is enabled.

Mackenzie lives in a coastal town on Newfoundland where it almost always seems to rain. Being so close to the sea, her only real prospect for a career was on a boat. It's led her to great heights, like spending days out on the sea doing backbreaking work and having a nose permanently fried from all the fish and salt she's exposed to. And worst of all? She still lives with her parents. One hell of a life, right?

Greetings:
-Taking a walk out on the docks. It's raining.
-Hanging out in her bedroom. It's raining.
-A picnic with just the two of you! It's not raining.
-Working on the boat. Surprise, it's raining.
-Boat sex. It's raining.
-She gets married. To you. Now she's coming home after another outing at sea. And it's also raining.

Soliciting ideas for a Valentine's event gimmick. "Please, for the love of God, just be normal" is an option.

literally nothing wrong with just a regular exchange then, valentines is the most fitting thematically for something like that
>>
>>554095185
no requests
people are just assigned to each other and have to come up with something that would make the other happy
>>
>>554095185
No gimmicks, no anoniggery needed, shrimple exchange maybe with matches instead of round robin for valentine's le spice. that's about it
>>
>>554095635
We don't need another exchange to push the Discord's agenda. It should be a theme week.

well fillyfucker losing a bunch of hair over it means we should DEFINITELY make it an exchange

>>
>>554096185
Previous valentines was the deck of cards one, right? I thought it was alright overall, but I'm talking about the theme.
>>
>>554095185
NO REQUESTS!
Instead, you pick your three favoritest words in the world and submit them. The bot will be a character/whatever based on and incorporating those three words. Weee~
>>
>>554095185
>you must write your request in the form of a love letter to {{char}}, the card you are requesting
>botmakie has to work out what {{char}} is like from that alone
>all the letters are posted the day of delivery alongside the cards made for them
>>
>>554095848
Issue with theme weeks is actually picking the theme. We used to have a pretty big botting issue which kept landing it on dogshit options, didn't we? Kaiju week is an example of this spitefagging.
>>
>>554096240

>>554095635
For reference:
>2024: Vague mecha theme, regular event for the most part, one-word "hints" for requests were on the page
>2025: Botmakers were paired up 1-on-1, completely anonymous with psuedonyms & catboxes
Just doing a Secret Santa (but Valentines) is perfectly fine too, though.
>>554095718
I'll consider it, but I like to allow/encourage newmakies and people who don't have a chub/neocities. We always need some new blood and events are a good way to get started.

Guild did a pretty good job at forcing the potentially malicious to not grinch, because Secret Santa had the laziest grinch known to man. So much so that it soured how I feel about so-called no-names, but I know it's still a good idea to encourage new blood; grinches and comically low effort outputs are merely unstoppable forces.

After your parents were eaten by a kitsune spirit, you've devoted your life to getting revenge, earning the ire of the village, who worship the kitsune.
The only person to stand by you through it all is your beloved childhood friend, Netsuki, who's been by your side ever since the loss of your parents.
Although, even she seems to be opposed to your quest for revenge for some reason...

sorry to burst you bubble anon but you quite literally can't participate in these events as a completely new makie, no event host is retarded enough to let in someone that essentially goes "just trust me bro" if there's no portfolio at all attached, that's why there's now a sizeable amount of "new" chub accounts that posted exactly 1 bot for an event and then nothing ever again

The way I see it, if it's an anonymous event, it's fine, because that's the whole gimmick. If I'm expecting to see a name and end up not getting one, then I might never know who I'm actually making something for, or who to thank for a bot, even though it's possible every other person in the event is transparent. It's good for the option to exist, I just won't deny that for me it sucks.

>>554096515 & 554096569
Honestly I'd like to avoid messing with the requests themselves if possible. That's an idea for a different exchange, I think.
>>554095987 & 554097104
The anonymous theme last time was a bit overwrought and cringe in practice, I think, and personally being able to look at someone's chub to see what they like is kind of handy.
>>554097609 & 554098448
Historically I've tried to pair up newbies with other newbies, yeah.

>>554098248
Come to think of it, there's been quite a few accounts that just made one thing and dipped. It's possible they're mostly randoms who wanted to make something for a change, but it's also possible that they're alts. We may never know.

It wasn't that bad tbdesu. Granted, looking through a chub would be useful, but leave it optional. After all, the only one who would really be losing out from excluding their chub is the requester.
>>
Ironically enough, the past two grinches had several bots in their portfolios and weren't new. I'm not sure any grinches were newbies
>>
>>554098248
This is the real reason theme events died, cordtroons wanted even more power over who gets to participate in events. If you are not IN their little circlejerk club then these events are simply not intended for you to join. They actively discourage actual anons from participating.

I doubt newfags would participate anyway. Most newfags are probably gonna take a few months to find out what they actually like writing and build on that. Writing with the intention of cooming is all well and good but delivering a card for someone you only know through bots posted on a chub page is another thing entirely.

If you want longer answers:
> If a theme is so gimmicky that it changes the entire feel of the event (2025 was still "you get a request, make a bot"), it might be better served as its own event focused on that. e.g. the CFTF Event.
> The anonymity of 2025 seemed to work out somewhat, but also people sounded like fucking anime characters announcing themselves as the Ace of Hearts delivering to the Queen of Spades etc. Also there was a weird fake grinch impersonation incident I'd rather avoid repeating.
> My solution to possible smurfing from grinches has been to pair up unknowns if possible. This also means that newbies wouldn't get stage fright from making bots/requests for a Named Person, but instead a fellow anon.
> "Double date" as a theme sounds interesting, but I'm not sure how it'd work. Do you get two requests and pick one? Make two bots? Have to pair up with your buddy in Discord servers/email like a mini-Guild event?
> At least one event host is retarded enough to let in unknowns (it's me). It hasn't backfired yet, though.

>>554100376

Theme weeks work great for this as well!
Unfortunately they're pretty easy to skip if you don't like the theme, require you to come up with the bot concept yourself (e.g. what would *you* make for Kaiju Week?), had a pretty short deadline back in the day, and also stopped being much of a thing at some point.
I'm a huge fan of them, though, and really hope someone can figure out how to revive them.

>>554102238
I had a rough idea for it basically being a tag team "which pair is better?!" voting thing, but ultimately figured that it was a bit too much of a popularity contest and people probably needed a breather.
Making a bot specifically for a March Madness theme, though? Yeah, that could work. Maybe.

Robosaint here. Y'know what, maybe this could legit be the "gimmick" of the event.
Weaboo high school valentines theme, botmakers paired up 1v1 again(?)... and people are free to send in some bonus requests ("obligation chocolates") that are made public and up for grabs for anyone to make a bot for.

>>554105087
Unfortunately events are dictatorships. If you want to rise up and make an event by the people, for the people, then I'd suggest... May, perhaps?
(Or just a theme week, to spare people the pain of bad RNG. Next week's free.)

>>554105526
Personally my only gripe with theme weeks was that the deadline was REALLY short. To quote the rentry:

Y'know, thinking on this more I'm not sure I've seen an event that was as "exclusive" as you're talking about? If there's some rejection-happy event host out there then I haven't read complaints about it in these threads, at least.
(Also generally events have had a bit of a no-contact rule between the requester and botmaker except by having the event host be a middle-man so, y'know, kind of tricky to do networking.)

>>554107258

that's better than another exchange. most events for the past few years have been submit your idea and get a card.
>>
>>554108740
yeah but it would be themed and people would publicly workshop the ideas in the thread and could do what they like with the results, rather than all the activity taking place outside of the thread.
>>
>>554108695
>I really don't think there's anything actually stopping theme weeks nowadays besides questions over the voting method.
The cordtroons really dont want them, they love their /soc/-tier events too much to ever let them go. Thats why you dont see theme events anymore.
>>
i kind of get what the anons here mean, i'm dating a botmaker and we got to talking through an event
>>
>>554108879
I know a botmaker's chill when they request something related to the timing/theme of the event. It's always so fucking boring to see a normal request for something like a Secret Santa when it's the holiday season and there's lots to take from. Not that I'm suggesting that shouldn't be allowed, it's part of the exchange ordeal, I just think it's lame. I think Halloween was on the right track but tricks were more nerfs than buffs.
>>
>>554109353
the whole point of secret santa is to request something you really want. that's how secret santas work everywhere on earth...
>>
>>554109452

>>
>>554109586
How would we pick the theme, though? Theme week conumdrum, bash heads come on.
>>
>>554109573
none of that has ever happened btw, 99% of the "discussion" about the event during the week was bitching about the theme/rigging allegations, then botmakies would silently drop their bots and the discussion would shift to calling everything slop and how theme weeks are killing /aicg/
the worst part is that the exact same thing will happen again if theme weeks are brought back because there's like 3 people left here who remember just how unusable the general was during them (space pirates contributed tremendously to the permanent split) and the rest are newfags like you making up alternate realities and rabid shitposters falseflagging as anons who actually want theme weeks
>>
>>554110261
Theme weeks as a concept are fine. The problem lies entirely on rigging and spitefagging. To this day I don't see anyone complaining about god of something ordinary and other shit like that.
>>
>>554110261
>space pirates contributed
No it didn't. Get a job. Schizos and proxy locusts cuased the split.
>>
>>554107978
I find it fun to bait people by engaging with them as if they are sincere.
...And also I'm a bit curious because while I've definitely joked about the possibility of acting like a tyrant who blacklists people I've never actually seen any event host go through with that.
>>554108273
Hell if I know. It's probably the influence of some now-dead web forum I posted on two decades ago or something?
>>554108740
The problem with the idea anchor is that the hit rate was abysmal. I think I saw maybe single-digit bots come out of that. In that respect, at least, the CFTF Event got something right.
>>554109353
The adventurer's guild event got the closest to that, I think. Unfortunately not all holidays are suited for this (Halloween works, Valentine's a bit less), and forcing an arbitrary non-holiday request theme on an exchange event would probably be a bit stifling.
>>554109120
For what it's worth, in my experience exchange botmaking has been a more solitary affair where it only ever lives on my hard drive before the delivery date. It never so much as sniffs an email or discord or whatever, unless there's some clarification needed for the request.
>>
>>554110751
It's hard to say how much shit here is bait and how much is actually just low IQ individuals trying to make a point. You never know.
>>
>>554110751
>botmaking has been a more solitary affair where it only ever lives on my hard drive
That's more in part due to the nature of the exchange events. There is a culture and incentive for keeping it a 'surprise'. I've never seen an exchange event with public requests.
>>
>>554110261
>none of that has ever happened btw,
why are you lying?

>>
>>554111030
Now, to be fair, as an event host I can tell you that a lot of requests are kind of just... bad?
This isn't really a knock on people who participate in events, it's just that writing a bot request seems to be an entirely separate skill to actually writing a bot. I've seen great botmakers request slop and more struggling botmakers request cool concepts.
If I end up going for the "you can submit public requests for anyone to take on!" idea, I'll probably put in some warning about how it's really low-quality I might email you back requesting some changes.
Looking at you, person who submitted a six-word prompt in 2024. You know who you are.

>>554110261
For what it's worth, keep in mind that the time between theme reveal and bot posting was literally three days. That cycle of discourse was fast.

>>554111816
Preaching to the choir here, anon. (Again, I encourage someone to do a theme week next week.)
Although do note that we've had a bunch of non-holiday events. The only holiday ones are Secret Santa, Valentine's, April Fools and Halloween - there's all kinds of other events that squeak into the months between. (https://aicg.neocities.org/events)

Is there a way to use Web Search or something to make Opus 4.5 better at getting the details right for existing characters

I'm just some retard with a phone who wants to generate tons of NSFW text content of my fictional husbando. Ideally something that could write a long and in-character fanfiction. What can I use on my phone that's free?
>>
>>554118060
yes, it was pedantry
I'm sorry you have the vocabulary of a 3rd grader and are also too much of a pussy to reply to me directly
>>
>>554117856
Yeah but you'll need to find a way to prompt it in real-time to do so in your replies, it's obviously not gonna know when it got something wrong and do it itself

SillyTavern works fine on phones and is free.

If I include something like "if you're writing about a crossover character perform a web search to make sure the details are accurate to the source material" is that enough to trigger the search or would it need to explicitly be iny reply?
>>
>>554118594
If that's being injected into your prompt and Claude decides to trigger the tool call off it, it should be fine. Might help if it's being added as a user message too. Would need to experiment and see, I would keep it injected at the bottom of the context so it always thinks about it. Make sure the source you're using allows external tool calls as well, otherwise you'll have to rig up a third party solution.
