In terms of artistic merit, this canto might be bottom of the barrel. In terms of spectacle, nothing else even comes close. This was entirely hype moments and aura, and the shonenfag in me loved the fights, though Rein was a wet fart. Ryoshu's story wasn't that engaging, though maybe it's because she really didn't get that much time to herself in her own canto, and some of the elements in it were plain retarded, fucking TIME BLOOD. Also I'm unfathomably disappointed that Bamboo-Hatted Kim didn't show up AT ALL. Overall pretty good if you don't care that much about Ryoshu. If you do, it's awful.

The thumb is revealed to be ruled by 7 familiga and some has unique fighting style like the parmasan sword style? index has revealed they can use a beeper call hermes instead of waiting for Messengers, and index is not always faithful since some can defy the will of the prescript and hunt down. The ring is just fine since they got a hell of lore dump from the leviathan comic, but their obsession with art is too overdone by other syndicate in library of ruina, the least finger I'm interesting in.

I personally enjoyed the canto more after having stopped and noticed a lot of the juxtaposition with the books themes, and how some stuff makes more sense re-reading it.My main issue lies in them shoving way too much into one part, it was long as shit compared to others parts, but it still feels like there's too much to pay attention to and digest properly.That and the reasoning why Araya was so resentful of Ryoshu and doing mindgames with her trying to figure out if she genuinely cared for her, only makes proper sense with the announcer lines, which is weird.

Looking at it, Alyssa's kit is a bit of a sidegrade/upgrade to Faust's. Her Self-Burn gain is a lot slower to get online so her conditionals rely on the enemy having Burn early on, but overall her effects end up being better. She gets Attack Weight on her S2, she's not going to be killing herself as fast thanks to the slow burn gain and -50% Burn Damage, and her skills have higher base power even if just by one. Except for her evade which is weaker, and Faust having +damage conditionals which Alyssa doesn't have outside her S3. And it's not really fair to compare Drawn By Flame because Alyssa's is basically her true S3 since Max Attunement is a scripted move compared to Faust's where Max Attunement is an 'enhanced' S3.
Just finished the canto, I don't remember downloading that sinclair mod but it was really impressive if a bit too fanfic-y and tryhard for my taste. Whoever made it was a BIG fan of him

Unlike the Distortion Detective crew, which I do love, but was incorporated into the story for the sake of finally just introducing them into the story, because they ended up being virtually nonexistent in part 3 other than for being the justification as to why you manage to beat a boss. They didn't even show up at the end or anything. Hell pretty much everything needed more screentime in general, we went so fast from plot A to point B while also not accomplishing much in particular (the LCE raid taking place in two parts instead of one). It wouldn't have hurt to have more nodes but I think we all know why this didn't happen.

I like doing bosses multiple times because sometimes my friends need help so I like knowing bosses inside out so I can make teams with their IDs that fully counter a boss with very little room for luck to mess us up (and even if it does I plan for it). Rien vs Sinking is honestly pretty fun. My first run was 10 turns, but I was borrowing a HanafudaIsh since I don't have her, and I'm not sure how much she helped,d but it took 4 more turns with Maid Ish. Not having Heir Greg does suck, though. In one of my other runs with sinking, I had an incident with Furioso targeting Outis and Yi Sang repeatedly, which resulted in their deaths. However, Heasu had not permitted them to die, so they stated, and I fucking love it whenever I actually get to use the revive for a turn, especially since thanks to it Yi Sang was able to apply butterflies and get us the extra damage needed. First try didn't even have any deaths, which was nice. I love sinking with how many tools it has. I always feel like I have an answer for the boss.
