Since they completely removed all references to Unit 731 in this version of the game, I guess this entire final reference would've had to have been rewritten. This is an absolutely amazing ending, one of the best I've ever seen.It's also one of the most definitive endings I've ever seen, I'm shocked there's somehow 5% of the VN left after this, there's nothing left to wrap up.So the overall theme/idea of the VN is about loss/dealing with grief and moving on, right? All of the villains - Mifuyu, Kotarou, Itohime - are people who lost a loved one and let their inability to move on from that loss destroy their lives and the lives of others. Haruka likewise fails to move on, either running away or trying to bring back Natsumi until in the final super-true ending she's able to accept it's over and she's not coming back, when she gets her definitive bittersweet ending.

I don't really know how else to recommend it other than to say it's a fantastic mystery with a large cast of exceptionally well-written characters, and despite being one of the longest VNs ever written it maintains an astonishing level of quality throughout (there's only one route I genuinely dislike, and that's only because it was great until the ending). The only thing you have to keep in mind is that it was made by one guy with no budget, so it's cheap as hell, but if that doesn't bother you it really is a masterpiece.

The grand route epilogue in Henpri is nice on a character level, but since I can't get off to H-scenes anymore it's a bit tiring to read through and I don't have the same level of enthusiasm as with the rest of the game. I'm not saying the scenes are bad, because they're definitely not, but H-scenes just don't do anything for me anymore except in extremely rare instances, so when there are a lot of them I start to lose interest. So this isn't a criticism of the game, just a personal thing. Anyway, I'll probably play something all-ages after this.

Henpri grand route epilogue finished. That was a very nice way to wrap up the game, even if it's a rip-off of The Shawshank Redemption. Just need to read Himeru's append route and that'll be everything. This has been an extremely good VN. There were some things that weren't to my personal tastes, but that's okay. Highly recommended.
