I really don't like the direction endfield took. Like that anon said, the setting and story felt too much like other bigger gacha games.The combat was supposed to be strategic but it falls into the same system and level of strategy as the other games. You use units that work together to trigger their effect. This is the same as genshin reaction, hsr's specific team buff (dot, break, superbreak, fua, etc), and Wuwa's parry system just this time it's on skill than basic attack.Not only that, the actual strategy content is on the factory, which supposed to be half of the game. But the factory is a one-and-done content where you make it and never touch it again as it generates materials for you passively until you have thousands of them. In other factory game, you get to unlock progression to make better machine with higher throughput and efficiency, sometimes in a different size so you have to redesign your conveyors and factory plan. New materials, new mechanic, byproduct you need to discard, all will affect and change your design as you progress. Endfield however, doesn't have this. One machine makes one thing, no other machine will replace it on making that thing. New material on other region will have their own plot of land to automate. Once you're done with one region's factory, there is no reason to touch them anymore. And it made even more trivialized when you can just copy someone else's design in one click using the blueprint system.

I.E using cryo/electric/fire to prime an enemy and then hitting with nature infliction will always inflict Corrosion which shreds resist. It's always the second element used that matters so you're not railroaded into specific operator combos just to trigger a reaction. Using the same element stacks status up to 4x and triggers a burst of damage of that element.Phys statuses are separate and self-combo, it's basically Xenoblade with off-balance (called vulnerable) comboing into follow-up knock-up, knockdown, breach and crush.

Literally copy Stellar Blade gameplay and they can save Endfield. It's a good middle ground between souls combat and typical arpg so it works without sacrificing the flashiness essential for selling gacha characters.
