Imagine a real world counterpart, some shithole 3rd world country. Sure they may be some sort of order but bad things can easily happen to you if the flow wills it. Also from Ryoshu's POV to be that hopeful when she is literally the key part of the combined cartel's group project of creating the best assassin/waste disposal. She has seen how fucked up the city can be. Suddenly "normie life for my daughter since the city is so safe". Yeah I know it's just her wishes as a mother to see her daughter live a normal life...

Whelp. I finished Canto IX. Honestly? 8/10. This was one of the best in the list. Rien is a fantastic character only let down by the fact he wasn't even a real person but a pale imitation and the nursefathers all had amazing characterization even if Matt and valencina were kind of flat on the face of it. The fight music were all absolutely perfect and SAKAI was perfectly acceptable as a send off sad song. Again, this was a great canto. Fantastic work from director.

There's something I've been confused by ever since Certain Sinclair showed up. We know Mirror worlds exist as 'person a and person b swap bodies and minds but continue existing as if nothing actually changed' right? For instance Ryoshu and Nelly are the same person mentally and physically but with different existential stories. Ie ryoshu became a maid and Nelly didn't.
