Didn't post much of the gameplay before, but I agree with the other anons that commented on Luremaster, after finishing it is a bit of a meh DLC. There were some fun encounters, but the overall experience was a bit of a slog. The ghost knights, the backtracking in last part and the enemy spread in general. Not much story with the DLC apart from start and near end, not engaging as Heart of Winter or base game. Finished the modded playthrough. Overall the game holds up well in my opinion as far as Base Game + Heart of Winter is concerned, Luremaster is not that enjoyable - it doesn't get you invested into the plot and feels more tedious rather than properly challenging when it comes to encounter design and enemies.When it comes to the mods though, they were great for the most part. Thy really make the game feel more alive - the companions interject, talk to you & each other and some even change and devellop in a bigger way like Karihi. They don't feel like cringey Marry Sues and don't have main character syndrome and are competently written. Most feel like they could have been base game additions if IWD were to have companions as a base feature. The ones I had in my party were Cassia, Karihi, Guldruk and Teri & Holvir from the IcewindDale NPCs mod (there is a 5 man squad in this pack that has A LOT of banters with each other and if you want more inter-character interaction go with that as a party, I used it in the past) they were all good, Guldruk had the least to say in base game, he mostly talked in Heart of Winter since he was from the north tribes. The other 4 were talking a lot especially Cassia & Karihi.Quest mods were great, they didn't give a lot of XP to not upset balance too much and were spread out across the game, they did give some cool items that weren't very OP. Restoration of Kuldahar is great, added much more story to the game and smaller quests that made it feel very alive along with some mixed with main quest and expanded Kuldahar with a new subzone. Snowytoes Hamlet added a halfling settlement that you could do quests for along with a cool horror themed dungeon, another horror themed quest was Terror of the Skineater. Tales of Our Lady Dreamless was also good, related to the Auril presence. And the longest single one was War of Rot and Bloom, which added a bunch of new underground zones with a long questline and 2 tough bosses depending on when you

None of the factions are good, but some are worse than others. On the deep end of the spectrum you have chaos that just wants to corrupt and rape and tear down everything. On the other end of the spectrum you have exodite eldar who literally hide and don't want anything do with anyone else. If your criteria for saying everyone is bad because ultimately their goal is to dominate the galaxy and all other races, then the exodite eldar are the exception, because they literally don't even want to leave their basements.Craftworld eldar are in the middle. People have this kneejerk reaction to saying someone is bad just because they want to rule the planet/galaxy, but one way to judge a culture is to say ok what would happen if they did. It has occurred to me that Bioware is by far the most carcinogenic thing that has happened to the RPG genre, and it's not getting nearly enough flak for it here. It seems to me like the no. 1 "hated company" is Bethesda, but I will claim that Bethesda's sole sin, starting with Oblivion, is making dumb games for dumb people, and its negative reputation is inflated only because they took over Fallout and made it dumb.Meanwhile let's take a look at what specifically Bioware added to the table that has become mainstream:- Fake choices- Romances- Degenerate playersexual companions- Gameplay taking a backseat because it's for nerds- Popamole and non-RPG mechanics- Arguably also Bioware-style "party" building of one player character and a bunch of dumbass uncontrollable or only partly controllable "deep" companions (compare Fallout to Ass Effect as to how the former's glorified tagalong mercs are different)- Awesome buttons (Dragon Age 2 is the actual source of this)- Probably also a focus on a "cinematic experience"I'm probably forgetting more. Just about ALL the stupidity in modern RPGs can be traced directly to Bioware's efforts at ruining the genre.
