The majority of 40 man raids are run with two caster groups. Those group usually are 1 druid, 1 or 2 warlocks, and the rest mages. What you usually end up with is 2 balance druids, 3-4 warlocks, and 4-5 mages. I have rarely seen a raid with 3 caster groups, that has never been meta, and I have never seen a raid with more than that.
