My friends and I recently picked up Mario Kart again. Inspired by Arc Raiders we started just cruising through the courses with no real sense of urgency because we stopped actively working against each other. It's nice. There's a lot of stuff in the different maps backgrounds that are really interesting that I never noticed before because I was too caught up looking in front and behind me in the past. We still have to get past certain jumps and obstacles which is challenging and fun. When someone gets to the end we just wait there like an extraction until everyone is there and then we count to three and mob for the finish. We don't care who gets "1st" that's not the point. We do shoot off green shells though to add to the tension of the scenic drive but try to just drop behind items if we can or announce that we're setting off a "raider flair" if it's something that can't be avoided. I almost NEVER meet someone aggro, but just today I've been ratted on 4 times and needed to kill a dozen guys just trying to do straight looting runs. Barely even shooting arc or attracting attention to myself but these fuckers crawl out of the woodwork with laser-like precision during an ambush. I know it's a PvP game, that's not my biggest issue, it's the complete switch-up in no-time flat. I think we're at a critical point right now. I'm afraid that if Embark waits too long with new content, players might walk away. Arc Raiders is probably the best game I've played in recent years, but the lack of communication is making me a little nervous. It doesn't have to be much, but at least a little more information about when we can expect new content. In my opinion, saying nothing at all is completely the wrong approach. It really doesn't have to be an exact date or anything, just a little preview.

Those 3 slots with fit your shield and bandages and defibs/adrenaline (teams or solo depending) essential to have at any time on quickuse in emergencies, and you can have the other 4 slots for whatever mix of ziplines, snaphooks, and several grenade varieties. Plenty of ass space to hide a snaphook if you need. It’s the absolute most utility.>But I want to spend 15 minutes crawling to the extract that I have to have memorized and am on the same level on! You get far more utility with this kit. Having healing items on hand is a given for firefights. Having tons of grenade options as well lets you play any way you want. It also organizes the quickuse wheel so all heals are on the left and other items on the right.

When the game launched, lobbies were naturally just mixed, with some people shooting, and some people being friendly, because the Arc are actually somewhat of a threat, but now they added aggression based matchmaking which deliberately puts you into 90% friendly lobbies or 90% kill on sight lobbies, depending on how much damage you do to other players yourself. Since there's no way to see this, you will hardly ever actually get into the middle ground mixed lobbies which captivated people in the first place.The art direction (sans the characters), sound design, and music is all really good, and the progression systems are decent, but somewhat limited. Depending on how much you enjoy pvp, you will definitely get your money's worth. But if you don't like it, you might find yourself dropping it after you complete most of the pve challenges.
