I have to say, I just finished up the Quarry, and I'm really loving this game so far. It's gorgeous even on an underspecced machine, the combat feels good so far, and I'm enjoying all the variety the game has so far. It kind of feels like Zelda mixed with Dyson Sphere Project mixed with a puzzle game. If I have a complaint, it's how insistent the tutorials are to explain basic things without actually saying anything useful.I'd heard that the game was a bit on the glazey side for the MC, but it doesn't seem that way to me so far; MC's a legendary figure who, at the game's start, swoops in to save her people from a terrible catastrophe before swooping out to do the same for others. People's reactions feel pretty appropriate to her actions thus far - though I'm really missing how much longer plotlines were in OG Arknights, I feel like each of areas have had about 15 minutes of story so far if the gameplay didn't pad things out..That said, I do wonder if perhaps the game is spreading itself a bit thin; I said I enjoyed the variety, but I don't hate any of the things its offering me, and I'm in the mood to try them. If someone, say, hates platforming or factories or picross, I could see them getting frustrated with how many genres it asks you to engage with. I'm also speaking from the perspective of someone who's played for a single night, so it's not like they couldn't fumble it later.

The goal of Nefarith is Power Plateau where UWST Aethercell powerplant is located. Nefarith wants to use that Aethercell powerplant to cause a giant blight rapture and open a rift to Aetherside. We learn from Perlica that Nefarith isn't the first person known for Aether manipulation abilities: Endministrator has fought against simillar individuals 100 years ago during The First Aggeloi war. Regretfuly, the straight path to Power Plateau got destroyed, so we have to go there through Originium Science Park and Origin Lodespring.

We fight it and go further, to the Power Plateau.>In the Power Plateau we meet the local workers leader called Crowe. Power Plateau got besieged by Bonekrushers and many workers died. All UWST bases have a self-defence mechanism called Utjug Order. Crowe was trying to activate it but couldn't because of all the jamming. We repair the signal emmiter and activate Utjug Order. Turns out, Utjug Order actually orders an artillery bombardment of attacked area. We deploy beacons, artillery kills most landbreakers. We go to Nefarith and fight her. She manages to open a rift and TATA self-destroys trying to close it. Nefarith managed to escape but we kinda won. We go back to Dijiang to learn about our true mission and get future region teasers.>THAT'S IT. YOU CAN SKIP THE STORY NOW. DO IT. The Epilogue on Dijiang is actually kino so I won't spoil it. The first ten hours are unironically pure garbage but once you get to the third zone and second tier of factory materials/second outpost in the Science Park the game unironically picks up a lot and becomes pretty fun. It's fucking insane to me that they would go for this strategy of developing a gacha though, if somebody told you the first 5-10 hours of a 100-200 hour JRPG were kinda iffy but it got good after that there's an audience for that (hello Xenoblade Chronicles 2) but most gacha players have the attention span of a gnat and ten hours of actual gameplay is more time than they might spend in an entire year if you discount auto-modes, sweeps, and repetitive daily chores.In the way some people said Xenoblade 2 felt like a single player gacha, this gacha game should probably have just been a single player $60 title like granblue relink and it would have been a lot better received. How far into the story are you guys? I haven't had a lot of time to play, I just completed the part where you blow up the 3 denstacks while looking for a guy named Mark. I think the combat is pretty nice, even at low level, and I've only used the canon starter team. There's a lot of things to keep track of if you want to play the game properly, with all the combo skill activation criteria, status effects, elemental reactions and SP generation ontop of the dodging and parrying. The strategic elements are definitely there, and it already feels more hectic and complex than Genshin. I haven't touched the factory too much yet but from what I heard it's definitely not a barebones half assed system like some doomposters were claiming.

Game is a solid 6 for me, but slowly creeping up to a 7 after I slog through the tutorials. Combat gets a bit more fun, feels like I'm playing a JRPG. Also the amount of information, names, acronyms, crap, and tutorials they throw at you is beyond overwhelming; I gave up on getting rid of the orange "new" indicators a long time ago, but I also gave up on reading most of the new shit anyway because there's just so much of it and it's faster for me to just figure it out on my own later.
