I'be been playing Arknights: Endfield for about 20 hours. Here are my thoughts!I knew from the first time I saw the game's factory system and combat that this game is NOT for me, but I decided to give it a fair shot when it launched with the hope that I might be proven wrong.The game looks absolutely stunning, especially on my new PC. It's incredibly well optimised. Probably one of the smoothest launches for any big gacha title in recent memory. The world and the characters look absolutely beautiful!Unfortunately, everything else falls short for me. I am not here to say that it's bad, just that it's not for me. I hate the factory system with a passion. Even with blueprints, I don't want to engage with that. The combat is alright, but I prefer other titles out there when it comes to it.Also, I am pretty much in an open-world fatigue period. I am tired boss! I am tired of roaming the same map, doing the same kind of puzzles, opening chests, and just wasting time in the same exploration loop in all these games. This was one of the things I liked a few years ago, but now... I am just tired.The story was pretty standard... early gacha story with a lot of dialogue, slow pacing, and nothing too spectacular. I've experienced it a ton already, I couldn't get invested. I am also tired of amnesic self insert MCs. The presentation was very good though.All in all, my journey with the game ends here. It's just not for me. I think it's a great game if you enjoy the factory system, and it has potential to be one of the better gacha games out there... but there are some glaring issues with it.
