There are workarounds for this like the 3rd party tool Lifestream, but as a whole getting into a congested world is timeconsuming or improbable.Balmung is/was the social epicenter for both the Crystal DC and /xvig/, meetups and hangout spots were always on Balmung which is why a massive number of people either live there or transferred there. With the world congestion becoming a thing, it is both very hard to reach Balmung if you don't live there, and the people who do get into Balmung don't want to leave. This means you can't host meetups on Balmung because people can't get in, and you can't have an idle spot OFF balmung because people don't want to leave because of how hard it is to get back into Balm.The combination of all these aspects made it so, while in the past there was a universal hangout spot that would change every now and then, there is now none, and the closest is tiny pockets of people standing in Balm ul'dah.There were a few other issues like certain schizos making hangout spots nonviable or playerscope but none of them really compare to the world congestion thing. The problem is getting worse too, since the congestion issue is spreading to other worlds as well. I live on Malboro and when friends visit me, they tell me every so often the world is congested which shocks me. No idea what YoshiP intended with this change but it's just making playing the game socially much much harder for zero benefit.
