So why is chapter 1 written like this? I just played the Surtr event and it feels like a completely different studio made that quest line. Endmin actually talks and takes the initiative, the game actually tries to explore some deeper themes and the dialogue had a couple cheesy lines that made me smile.The fact that so many people are misinterpreting the main story just because of how bad the writing and scenario is is baffling.

reposting since people seem to be talking about the loreI've read through some of the lore bits in the archiveterrans got to Talos-2 through the sami stargate you see in is4, but they only got the coordinates to the talos gate after they used the "celestial fulcrum" which is (apparently) used to move the terran shadow moon that's on the other side of terra. ("apparently", because I only know what it does from the ak wiki)mind you, it's called the shadow moon, because it always sits on the other side of terra the entirety of which is covered by an oceanbut, what if it's covered by an ocean because the moon is there? what if activating the fulcrum and moving the moon flooded terra?
