Are gunships not working at the moment? My whole squad (2 not using stealth armor) just r an up to a gunship fab and none spawned.

I've also played a few missions with the gunship patrol modifier and it hasn't spawned any.

I use it a lot with chainsaw build to set it up. Im gonna say something cursed but its better bushwhacker by a wide margin, and it can replace stun grenades in your kit if you like using them to stun a single enemy.

I use the fuck outta them on bots and it's probably my best oh fuck option to equip.

The "git gud" meme has done damage to the gaming community and game development teams. Autistismos unironically believe that difficulty and balance in a game cannot be criticized and all fault lies on the player.

And to not be totally negative: This has been a refreshingly nice community. Outside of isolated incidents, players have majoritively been polite, skilled, and thoughtful Helldivers to fight alongside. And this game has some of the funniest friendly fire I've ever seen. Seriously on par with my Earth Defense Force days.

I'm not arguing that it should be easier by any means. But straight up unwinnable battles and RNG mechanics which I have no control over are simply poor design. We're talking about enemies that spawn in numbers faster than you can physically eliminate them. The ones that teleport to catch up to the player, making jetpacks or teleporter packs useless. Heavily armored bullet sponges randomly out in the open so you might randomly drop onto one and die before you can call down a weapon to deal with it. If any of these mechanics were put into a game alone they would be considered unbalanced and poorly designed; ridiculed by gamers and fixed within the first month of release.
But because the inept devs made the whole game unbalanced it draws brain-dead autistic weirdos that have no nuanced comprehension of why the game is hard, only that it is.

Overseers die in seconds to afterburn fire when you use laser weapons despite their main damage output often being much higher than fire's DPS due to their armor mechanics and laser weapons igniting the target before actually penetrating their armor. They are probably the easiest enemies to kill with fire provided you can actually set them on fire in some way, shape or form. Somehow flamethrowers fail to ignite them head-on, most likely to not actually being bugged in the way they apply afterburn unlike lasers, but ground fire still can.

Elevated Overseers overshoot their grenades as they are mostly expecting you to be running away in a single direction and you can abuse this to your advantage. You can also force them to the ground and into your puddles of fire by aiming above their heads on purpose, the retardation in design that is aim resistance will never stop amusing me when that happens.

I agree with everything else. They're not as fun to fight despite being designed as the faction to play when you don't care about AT and just want to let machineguns rip. At least bugs provide a sense of dread from all their jinking and outflanking meanwhile you don't really feel the same with Voteless "sneaking up" and spawning behind you on a patrol out of thin air.
Lowkey, Railgun kinda feels like a lot of fun on Illum front if only for its interactions with Fleshmobs and Harvesters with overcharged shots, but it is a suboptimal choice against anything else, specially since Overseers require two shots to the chest or a headshot, It's still a lot more fun to bring it to Automatons instead though

If you get spotted throw it up high on something and break line of sight, everything will lock onto the mine that won’t blow up because it’s out of range. It does what smoke wishes it could do, and it’s still 1000 damage heavy pen if you want to blow something up so it’s versatile.

Suppressor, with a senator to shoot down stingrays, and C4 for ships and clumped up enemies takes care of everything they can throw at you and is a lot of fun. Lire mines for distractions for when things get hot. Gundam at least treats it semi-realistically at first in that the mobile suit mecha stuff, while changing the balance of the war because it's able to be versatile, isn't totally outclassing traditional warfare. Some dude on a turret emplacement or tank can wreck a dumbass or unaware soldier in a mobile suit. Then the series progresses and the damn things get reflexive enough combined with panoramic cockpits for full 360 peripheral camera vision that the more advanced mobile suits dominate most conflict, though plenty of old junkers and outdated tech is still around.

That's still better than most of the Gundam spinoff timeline shit where the giant mecha just overtake everything from the get-go most of the time.

In helldivers. Where you drop stuff from big ship from space. You have to haul stuff around the galaxy. Big tanks with big crews might not be effective or even possible. But you still need firepower. Thus smaller suits and smaller tanks.

Realistically the only place where legs are superior to wheels or tracks is extremely rough terrain and alternative locomotion types like climbing, and in the first case you probably want infantry anyway or you just make your vehicles big enough to crush the obstacles and avoid dealing with headaches that making walkers brings, like stability and complex leg movements. Rolling motion is also so incredibly more efficient than walking it's actually surprising nature hasn't come up with some way to do it before us.
