I lost a gorillion matches in a row playing Lucio, I watched a guide on how to reddit Lucio, which led to me deranking from Diamond 2 to Gold 4 (Last season wrapped up at Master 4.). Switching to Zen and Illari (both are my mains, I used to be a ZEN OTP back in OW1), I won six matches straight and climbed back to Platinum 5. What I learned: metallic-ranked games are a blast: it’s ridiculously easy to bully the enemy tank, and most players are clueless about spacing, while emotions run so high that people can’t keep their cool. A lot of supports complain in chat about “tank diff” or weak DPS (“Their Zen has more damage than my DPS ggwp” and so on). But honestly, if you’re on support--the easiest role--and you lose because the enemy support outdamaged your DPS, that’s on you. At the end of the day, it’s an FPS; you’re supposed to shoot the enemy, not just healbot and hope to get carried. Also, I realized that playing Lucio too aggressively can throw the game if your pacing is off. For me, achieving the same impact with Lucio as with Illari or Zen is much more challenging, yet healing with Lucio feels so simple but I haven’t figured out a good playstyle.

Yesterday I queued into two games with this one chick who one-tricks Mauga and some tilted support who was flexing between Juno, Lucio, and Bap.First game Mauga just keeps charging in 1v5 like a brain-dead ape, insta-dying every push without waiting for anyone. The support loses his shit: calling her a “mongoloid retard” and shit like that. Some simp on our team jumps in defending her like “bro chill she’s trying,” and the support just hits back with “watch this fucking feeder keep inting.” Sure enough she ends the game with 17 deaths, literally triple anyone else on the team.Next queue, boom, same two idiots on my team again. Mauga girl said her cute little “hi guys let’s have fun” and the support instantly goes “oh great it’s this fucking retard again.” on VC. She proceeds to do the exact same solo-diving suicide routine while he’s flaming her. He eventually rage-quits mid-match but comes back. Our Hanzo starts white-knighting HARD on VC like “yo Juno you should apologize bro she’s actually popping off.” Dude says nothing, swaps to Lucio, and starts pocketing the Mauga on every single suicidal dive like it’s his life’s mission. We somehow win. After the game the girl and Hanzo are both talking mad shit about him iwhile he just sits there silent. Next game I get the same faggot again, this time the Mauga girl is on the enemy team. He just said “their tank's a straight-up mongoloid feeder, free dub eazy bois” then picks Ana and proceeds to bully the fuck out of her. We roll them.I wonder how many days that faggot will be banned for all the crap on VC.
