Basically the problem is that r/FireEmblemHeroes is a biased sub that never gets things 100% right.Everybody knows that Sigurd and Tsubasa are basically confirmed winners, the issue is with Sylvain vs Fomortiis and Azura vs Ivy.Sylvain and Azura voters were underrepresented on Reddit during CYL9. Fomortiis and Ivy were overrepresented. They give skewed results because a lot of votes come from Twitter users who don't have the same bias as Reddit.The Twitter models account for Twitter's bias with multipliers that raise or lower how many votes a tweet is translated into. Characters like Sylvain, Sigurd, Byleth etc get punished by multipliers because they used to be very vocally supported on Japanese Twitter. Like Byleth, Sigurd and Sylvain had more combined than every other male.However, Twitter is a dying platform, and the number of Japanese voters has literally dropped by like 80%. There's no way of knowing if these people have just left Twitter or have left FEH completely and now won't vote.So the model is built to assume characters like Sigurd and Sylvain will get 100s of tweets, but the number of JP tweets has drop by a massive number this year, and that's across the board.The lower the number of tweets are, the bigger the effect that multipliers have. So the fact that the Japanese aren't posting has a massive impact on a model that is weighted to weaken characters with JP support.Since nobody knows what JP support looks like, nobody can make an accurate call on what 2nd place for each gender will be.
