I think this is the first gacha game that gave me that feeling of raw power from the MC. I think it comes from a case of show, don't tell. Take Traveler as an example. Her kits are trash. Her best kit if a bullshit kit that only works on one boss. But we are expected to think shes a badass because shes flying around and using plot magic in the cut scenes. Meanwhile Endmin is out there fixing problems and building an empire. Sure you still have a lot of telling going on but they show far more than they tell. Badass in combat, the BOSS outside combat. Even if she never got a single plot magic cutscene, she would still be the CEO of Talo. I occasionally got the same impression from Docta from regular Arknights. The problem with Endfield story telling vs Arknights story telling is that 3d nature of the game doesn't allow your imagination to do heavy lifting. I was very dissapointed when I saw protocol space rifts. In AK coming to Assimilated Universe was always something mysterious and felt very important. Endfield reduced it to lmao portal. Also for some reason Endfield being a 3d means we can't experience story from several points of view. One of my favourite things about AK is that there are usually several plotlines in a single event.

I enjoy the limited moveset because it makes the abilities you have meaningful. gacha tends to just let players have at things but here we have some intentionally designed platforming segments scattered around the world. there's a sense of intent with the construction of the levels. the other gacha I play is wuwa and they just let you find chests in the map with a loot scanner you drop on the map and it reveals all chests within a set radius so there's not much mystery to finding chests with how effective your abilities to explore are.
