I reached Platinium 4 in Amatsuki, enough to get the free skin. I could have done it in riichi, but wanted to try and learn another variant. Out of the three, hong kong is the one I liked the most. Mostly because it's more similar to riichi than the rest. It feels like a mix of MCR and Riichi, taking some rules from chinese and some from japanese 'jong. Most notably, like riichi you have not as much yaku (even less than in riichi, missing tanyao, sanshoku, iitsu, etc) but like MCR you need a minimum amount of points to win, and hong jong only has big points (han) and not small points (fu). Which makes gameplan rather simple, maybe too much. You either go for honitsu/chiinitsu, go for toitoi or if your hand is too normal for menzen "pinfu" tsumo. Seems a bit shallow but it's still fun. For now I'll stop playing it and go back to riichi in MJS, hopefuly I reach Saint this year.Thank you for reading my blog.
