Ok I tested it now on my rig. Previously I'd get on native 1440p with everything maxed out in the plains camp with camera towards the dlc cat around 70 fps. Can't remember the 1% lows but slowly spinning the camera stuttered. It's now around 95-100fps with the 1% lows at 80 and the stutter gone. Outside of the camp it's slightly better so all in all the game runs smoother cause of the better 1% lows and some higher fps here and there but some textures are noticeable worse. Overall it looks good enough leaving aside the blurriness one would need to up the render scaling to get under control but the last time I did this the aliasing went overboard regardless of AA used. The texture streaming on load in or fast scene changes still exists but it's much shorter now. Model swap cause of LOD is the same and sucks dick but that wasn't something this patch was supposed to fix. No idea if the february patch LOD settings will offer something for high end rigs to get it under control.

Didn't change any options after the update but the game looks a bit sharper to me with the new update, but leaves and grass have more shimmering artifacts than before. My 1% lows have gotten a lot better, if I disable fsr's framegen my fps hovers around 58-60 in the plains problem zone now, where as before it was 40-45. If I resort to turning DLSS to performance I could probably get a 60fps lock without fsr framegen, but I don't think the visual tradeoff would be worth it considering fsr framegen has no visual bugs in this game.

If it's higher or lower you get nothing but the standard increase. That's convoluted as fuck and interestingly makes handicraft (sharpness+1) even more valuable. Before i pick this back up, did the difficulty improve at all since launch with later monsters? The main story reminded me of playing pokemon sun and moon which means that it was so easy it pissed me off. I'm usually extremely average at these games(world fatalis even filtered me) and I still never carted the entire time.
