You know, I think the second Science Outpost quest inadvertently reveals a lot of the disconnect in the Endmin glazing; there, when you return, a couple of randos praise you for recovering the arts while you point out that you didn't actually do anything, it was all Noffman and Da Pan; they then immediately dismiss that as simply being humble, because OBVIOUSLY it must have been you, you're the Endmin!Meanwhile, the game is FILLED with other people doing things; Andre made the AIC, Yvonne made Tata to deal with the blight, UWST is doing all of the heavy lifting in the area... And yet, Edmin is the one given all of the credit for it. For the Endfielders, it's more a case of "You gave us a clear vision, and we built a miracle on it" (though whether it comes across that way to the reader varies, I imagine), but for everyone else, it's literally "Edmin returned from the legends" as they ignore everyone else who helped build your success.Is it meant that way? Probably not, that's a pretty advanced lift for an author to aim for, especially in a product aiming for mass appeal. But I do think it highlights why all the NPC praise comes across as a bit... Off; we keep getting handed credit for the accomplishments of others.
