My suggestion would be to get familiar with the basic concepts and get comfortable in Blender and then your resource pool opens up a lot more. Tons of people I think focus in too hard on Blender specific tutorials where I've used tutorials for Max, Maya, ZBrush etc. as most of the techniques are the same regardless of program.
