I've been watching a lot of old Sonic videos and I found it interesting how people rarely questioned Sonic's characterization before Colors. It's always Shadow, Amy, Knuckles, and Tails but not Sonic. There were some complaints about how he isn't cocky enough in 06 in some old reviews but you can always bank on that specific reviewer being a Satam boomer. In fact, Sonic's character is almost never discussed in old Sonic youtube videos. I have to go out of my way to find any mention of it. Shadow is HEAVILY discussed.

I'm really enjoying the Chaotix Casefiles so far. One little detail that I like in particular, that really tickles my nostalgia, is that *ding*-note in the theme taken directly from Knuckles' Chaotix. It's an instrumental sound used all throughout that game. They really know how to make a 40 year old, who had a 32X during the 90's, smile.

It was simply the perfect storm to cause a complete annihilation of all things Sonic.
