She is hypermobile and can get out of bad situations quickly and easily using an ability with only a 2 second cooldown and has her sympathetic healing passive. If you tunnel vision on the mercy, and don’t kill her, you are basically directly giving her value by wasting time and resources while she lives and heals her team at the same time.Would it not be much better to basically, ignore the mercy? Of course after one of her teamates dies you should be cautious of her if she tries to rez and look to punish if she attempts it.

You get the crazy resistance and fast reposition of the grip, but you don't have to worry about pulling your dps from the frontline. It's a bit riskier, but if you save petal and dash you can usually guarantee a good escape back to the backline if things don't go your way.Sometimes I do reflex pop if someone is low, especially if I see them incredibly outnumbered or their health is much lower than the person they are fighting and are about to die. Some gamemodes are a war of attrition and not dying is sometimes more important for the objective than getting kills or picks, if someone 90% going to die it's usually a good call to lifegrip them and give up a little bit of positioning rather than lose an entire player unnecessarily. All of the downsides of reactive lifegrip can be mitigated by the weaver getting better and better at reaction speed and timing. You can also do the fun thing of sneaking to a funny spot and then immediately repositioning someone for some goofy shenanigans. or if you comms with a tank or good dps you can just have them hard dive every 16 seconds when you have your "get out jail free grip" off cooldown.
