Anon last thread asking abour arcraider solo play. If you jump into a game as a solo player, you will be in a solo lobby. If you select "fill squad" or whatever it is, you'll be in a teams lobby. If you are playing with just one friend on your team, you will get placed in a duos lobby. The first two maps are fairly chill for 3's and solo's, duo's is seen as more of a pvp lobby. The final three maps get a bit more pvp focused when there isn't a world event going on, since players are easier to kill than the bigger bots, and have better loot density/value. There's a similarity to destiny, in that the maps are just people running around a patrol zone like instance, all doing their own thing, but "public events" or big battles bring everyone together. You all remember when public events were a thing right? Random fireteams coming together to bring down a boss. I member

Bungie kept cutting away at the investment for more casual players while simultaneously making the endgame content and by extension now most content harder.Its why I honestly think they should've moved the game to sort of like a CoD system where guns are levelled up through usage(kills/activity completions) and you acquire the perks, enhancements, barrels, mags and MW for them that way or perks are just unlocked when you get the gun to drop with a specific perk. Give diamond skins or something for hitting level 100 or 1000 or w/e, then just have a overall thing like Divsion 2 with levelling up all the different guns for small boosts or rewards. Would reward people for using stuff that isn't just BiS all the time while not being mandatory to do it. In general Destiny just needs things to do and rewards for doing it, like the whole Portal system sounds good on paper if there was actual worthwhile rewards for playing and grinding all that old shit rather than just power levels or a generalized loot pool that all drops triple perks effectively granting you god rolls for just existing.

I have been stewing on a D3, and I have come to the conclusion that Destiny doesn't work in modern era when it went too long playing familiar and people putting up with way too much until they didn't and bounced. What Bungie's going to add features that should've been in the game in 2014 and then say, welp we worked really hard on adding in UI tool tips to explain what a buff does by % numbers wise, so don't ask us for shit why we added no new modes, destinations, etc. Maybe the answer is literally not having Bungie handle the game, but that of course can't be divorced because they built things in such a proprietary ass backwards way that they can't be separated. It's like somebody bolted a mecha extraction shooter to playing house with your android waifu. Its a real chocolate in my peanut butter situation because it really works better than you'd think because the grind to build up that house is real.
