Hohenheim's a personal favorite Distortion of the ones I've seen. I like his design. The bloodied hands of his coworkers both wrapped around him like a layer of guilt, but also being his means of fighting. Shielding him, forming into a giant hand to crush, or otherwise. Almost like they're still protecting Hohenheim as they did back then. The blue scientist outfit makes for nice color contrast, too. Also the background is great with the giant eye on the ceiling observing everyone.The kit's has things to say about it, but I mostly liked the Choice Event that pops up three times in the fight. It's interesting listening to the thought process of this distortion as it talks himself into remorse and regret from a few simple questions. The Maladaptation question in particular feels really fit for being picked last because of how badly he crumbles at the end of it. Reading those conversations combined with the boss remix of Lob Corp's Neutral music in the background gave the fight a heavy feeling. I tried not to end the fight too fast because I wanted to hear everything he had to say. I really enjoyed this encounter.I didn't truly think this was going to happen, but when I was playing Canto 9 Part 2 I had a throwaway theory that Hohenheim would possibly brute force the distortion process if Marton or someone's life was in danger. Focus on nothing but the loss happening before him, how Alyssa might also be dead/dying, his dead colleges he triers not to recognize the faces of, all that he's already lost, and try to force the mindset that would allow him to undergo distortion. Anything to save even one of his college's lives. If anyone could do it, I felt like Hohenheim could. It's a silly idea in hindsight, but was a fun train of thought while it lasted.
