I personally prefer this more abstract sci-fi look to the wild-west or retrofuturism shit, though they can definitely do more in keeping distinct design language between different factions or biomes rather than the current generic approach.my main issues are that I think the movement should be even faster, more aligned with destiny 2 pvp, and the visual design language of the weapons and runners are complete dogshit

There's two specific spots in the pvp maps i can think of with three height levels, but walls keep both of them so you can only engage one of them at a time. Destiny pvp had way better maps than D2, because of the verticality in many of them. This caused scouts to be dominant, because staying back and watching with a wide field of view, waiting til your roaming super was up, was the best way to play if you weren't on crack. This doesn't "look" as cool as getting crsipsnapcracklepop headshots with a handcannon though. Hilariously this is why jumping keeps handcannon users from being able to kill you in D2.

The rest is a bunch of cubbyhole tunnels that sure have little barricade like speed bumps to obscure vision slightly, but you're basically fighting in extremely closed quarters where you're things boil into a game of who fucks up first. Not totally dissimilar to A and C at Bannerfall where you can just be a little fucker in your bunker waiting for somebody to take the wrong angle and you just get on the right side of a duel. Very easy to control angles when inside and it's like say there's a capture in middle, there is no "let's swoop around and flank" when there's only so many entry ways and places 3 people can be. I know this is where Destiny's arena shooter like dna can bleed in just a little, but it always bugged me how botched a lot of the maps areas can be. Javelin 4 often is well regarded because you're not totally bound to overusages of block by block right angled entries, there's more curvature in walls and openings and actual box placements and other things where you can take a fight and retreat without being in full protection of multiple layers of interior space. You can also traverse space with options on your approach. Even forcing a scrap if flags on B isn't terrible because there's enough space and openness to fight around things, back into center, down the halls, etc. It's engaging enough.

The campaign while it had a more coherent story still was pretty bland when it boiled down into just (traversal + mechanic -> boss encounter -> repeat first 2 steps 1-2 more times -> end mission). It became too predictable by like mission 3, and the lack of genuine variety in gameplay. Barely any vehicles were in the campaign when this is the finale and the Witness is supposed to throw everything at you but it really never feels like it. Also just the amount of added systems with that delay. Without that delay we probably wouldn't have Verity, Ergo Sum, Prismatic, Dread, Dual Destiny or the exotic class items.It also just had a decent enough ending to culminate the 10 years of story even if it wasn't perfect. Content sloppers glaze it for SE being retardedly difficult when SE was basically the final straw for LFG and killed off the LFG quite quickly. Its funny thinking about on certain weeks RoN had more way more clears than SE during TFS year, if you want to see for yourself go onto warmind.io and go to raid analytics and compare RoN to SE.
